Off-road riding around Plano, Texas

Ok Guys, some of you know me, some don't. I lived in Austin Texas for 7 years had a great time riding off-road and meeting many TWT riders. I then moved to Seattle, Washington for work. I have been here 3 years and absolutely hate the weather, so have had enough of the damp and cold and am trying to move back to Texas. I was hoping to get back to Austin, but so far the only interesting job I have found is based in Plano, (just north of Dallas) so I wanted to ask for any information you guys & gals can share on dirt bike riding in or around Plano? I also paraglide so if anyone has info on paragliding in that same area it would really be appreciated.. I have got to pass the interview yet, so it's early days, but I want to see if it is somewhere I want to live or not, it's Texas so that's already a positive!!

Come on Home Gary, there are a few spots up there and its not far to Arkansas and all its national forrest rides.

I have an office up there in Richardson on the edge of Plano be good to see you again.

Here's some dirtyness around the area.

There are some really great riding areas within 1-3 hours of Plano (I live in Wylie). Red River Motorcycle Trails, Barnwell Mountain, Rocky Ridge, Crossbar Ranch. And when I need a quick dirt fix, I have some 'secret' areas nearby. Give me a shout when you make it down here.

+1 on what sgifford said. I live right next to plano (north dallas), so we'll have to meet up and go riding once you get down here.

I am in Sachse, not far from Plano. Several places to ride. Come on back to the greatest country on earth.

Hey Mati, long time, haven't seen you since you followed me down Black Bear on your very first ride in Colorado many moons ago, hope your're doing well. You have any videos of your rides around the Dallas areas? Love to see if maybe some of us "Old Dudes on Dirt Bikes" here in Houston should pack it up and come visit you guys in the Dallas area sometime. If you get adventurous about riding the Sam Houston Nat'l Forest here, give me a shout, we ride there a few times a week usually. Larry / Buelligan
