This is a nice road in the top of the Hill Country by Meridian, Clifton and Cranfills Gap. Nice curves! Don't miss it. If you take Hwy22 from Meridian straight to Cranfills Gap, you are literally committing a crime. ;-)

Just wanted to give a heads up, this road got brandnew gravel paved on it. It may be a few weeks until it is somewhat safe again. They did that Friday morning and I hope nobody got in trouble on it, I haven't had a chance to post it up until now.

Other roads in the area may get repaved to, so I'd advise caution, just in case.

Wedding in Granbury last weekend... drove home through the area... It was all pretty... I want to go back and try some of it out on my bike.

Those roads suck. All of the roads around here suck. It's much more fun to stay on I-20 and I-35 or head straight down (or over) to Kerrville. There is no reason to come out to these parts. We still have roving packs of wolves and desperados, too. Whole gangs of wolfish desperados. By all means do NOT stray off the U.S. highways. Coming from Houston just stay on 6 to I-20 and then head west to New Mexico. Good riding out there.

Trust me, anyone from Houston would love to have those kind of roads in their backyard. Elevation changes, nice long sweepers... I love those roads.

It is all true, nothing but tumble weeds and flat striaght roads full of bumps and gravel. No trees, no grass. bumper to bumper traffic. Avoid this area! Go ride the the Three Sisters instead.

Had I not been in Killeen on Tuesday early afternoon, I would've probably seen you ;-)

Actually, the gravel is still pretty bad on that road, it seems. It didn't bother you?

2136 is a little gravely now that you mentioned it. But I wasn't going real fast
on it. Too busy looking at the scenery. Trees are turning and some really nice
hilltop estates out there as well.

Very nice! :rider:

The scenery is definitely nice! Next time, check out the mud house they built on the right side before you get back on Hwy22 (northbound).

When will you be back up in the area for a visit, Patricia?

Maybe a ride with a little warmer temperature? http://www.texasarlingtoncs.us/pics/smilies/moodsmilies/cold.gif

And we did miss 2136 last time since we were running late...

I could easily go back for more German food. :thumb:

I'll be back for Christmas but not sure if my mom is open then or not. Since I got that other horse, I will try to head up there more often again to work with her a bit. I'll let you know Chuck.

Oh, and don't feel bad about missing FM2136. I'll keep an eye on it to see when the gravel starts to diminish but considering that it was done in September and is still pretty 'fresh', it may be a while. Hopefully for the warmer temps, it will be ready. :rider:

But Rich and I did not miss 1238, 927, 203 and 51 on the way back when we took the alternate route.
But as reported these roads should be avoided because the entire stretch is a 20 mph school zone.

All of these remarks should be pretty confusing for people who lack understanding of sarcasm!
