Good riding East of DFW between I30 & I20?

Howdy,

:tab Whenever I've passed through this area, I've always been on the way to some where else and have not taken the time to explore the roads. Sitting here daydreaming with my atlas of Texas, I have been getting the urge to explore that area in more detail. Anyone done much riding in that area, especially around Lake O' the Pines? There are so many little FM's out in that area it could take weeks of riding all day to hit them all!

The Ride Texas "book of rides" thing (whatever they call it) has at least one route in it that runs east of here but I don't have it with me to check. We spent alot of time at the lodge out at lake of the pines when I was a kid and I remember the roads out there being pretty nice. I just haven't been out that way on my motorcycle. My dad would likely have some advice for good roads to ride out that way since he still goes out there every now and then.

Lemme know if you wanna go exploring out that way some weekend and want some company.
