Yes, one Austin rider (Native) from the ADVrider site is going with some friends and invited me. Also DirtBomb (Chris) was interested in going to Copper Canyon sometime this year. He has been before and is looking to go again.

Bill we have a trip planned in January, 2007, through the Copper Canyon, ferry to Baja, North to Mexicali and then ride back to Presidio through the US on mostly dirt roads.

I don't see why I can't do both rides. :sun: The way I figure it, I got bumped from the Terlingua ride due to a wedding so I must make it up somehow. :rider:

I haven’t made any definite plans yet. I will trailer from Arlington to the start point, probably Presido. I messaged a guy on the ADVrider site , Native out of Austin , that I would like to ride with his group and he answered I was welcome and to contact him when it gets closer to the ride date.

I have contated Pueblo Viejo , suggested lodging for the Horizon Unlimited ride and made reservations for a small cabin.

Also , Dirt Bomb, Chris, has also expressed interest in going to Copper Canyon around the same time. He has been before so we are talking about possible hooking up.

This is an excellent trip report from the AdVrider site about a Mexico / Creel / Copper Canyon ride.

The Copper Canyon / Creel Mexico ride is starting to gain momentum. Dirt Bomb / Chris has four riders ready to go. One rider from his group has several trips under his belt. We are planning a Presidio start location. Chris has a motel in Presidio that will watch the vehicles during the ride. No definite date for start yet. It will be no later than Sunday October 8, but more than likely it will be Friday or Saturday. Depends if we fast track to Creel of take the back roads with an over night stop on the way. May include some more Texas riders from the Advrider web site. More details to come in the near future.

I'll be riding with Native and Bounce from advrider, So far it looks like we may head out october 6th, but that might change.

I want to ride down, but theres talk of trailering to study butte and leaving from there to save time. Need to get passports, insurance, etc taken care of.

The trip start date is closing fast. So far we have 8 Texas riders from the TWTEX and KLR650.net sites and three plus from the Advrider site all commited to go. Also a rider from Florida, RPWW, will try to join us. We meet in Presidio Saturday Oct 7 at the Three Palms Inn for a Sunday border crossing. GPS,cameras and big smiles at the ready. :rider:

Bill, have a good time. Don't forget to stop about 17 miles from the border at a rest stop on your left at a big white monument. There's a VERY deep canyon there that is amazing!!
