As some of you know, I have been in a protracted battle to get my law license in Arizona so I could move back to be with my family and practice law there. (I have been licensed as an attorney in Texas since 1994).

Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Arizona denied my application, overruling its Committee on Character & Fitness' decision that I had the good character to be an Arizona attorney. Needless to say, I am very disappointed, and it feels like I've been punched in the stomach.

Now we are making arrangements for my wife and three sons to move back to Texas so we can be together here. My wife would like to move to Round Rock so she can help open the new IKEA being built there (she is an employee at the IKEA store in Tempe, AZ). Of course, that would mean that I had to find a new attorney job somewhere in the Round Rock/Georgtown/Austin area, instead of the position I currently have in Sugar Land.

Please pray that my wife and I make the right decisions regarding where we end up in Texas, and that I learn where God is leading me through this great disappointment.

God bless,

Lee

everything happens for a reason, sometimes it just takes a while for us to know what they are. Texas is not AZ, but on the bright side ... Texas is not AZ. Round Rock is a great area, lots of growth and opportunity. The riding is not bad either.

I was always told that when one door closes, another one opens - but it may take a while. It sounds like RR will be a good place to wind up. Personally, I'd rather be there than Sugarland. My best wishes for you and your family.

:tab That is disappointing. Nothing like seeing the bureaucracy in action. I hope something turns up in the Round Rock area for you. I know from experience that patience often pays and the disappointment following the loss of what was thought to be an opportunity can turn to gold. At least you and your family will finally be getting back together. Being apart so much has got to be hard on everyone.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate your prayers and good wishes.

Now my wife says it is MY decision whether we go to Georgetown/Round Rock, or whether the family joins me in Sugar Land.

Point for SL -- I have a job!

Point for Round Rock -- my wife can continue to work for IKEA (and houses are cheaper).

Just what I needed -- more decisions!

God bless,

Lee

Well, living just west of Round Rock, I can tell you it's a nice area. However I don't know anything about Sugar Land so I can't give you a comparison. Just keep praying for guidance. It will become obvious where you are supposed to be.

I've often thought that we printers need a professional association like the bar in order to divide up the market and keep prices high. Competition is such a hassle. ;-)

Anyway, good luck and I hope that you find better opportunities. Arizona's loss is our gain! :thumb:

I am also guided by those words of wisdom:

"If Mama ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy."

I will (of course) keep on praying and listening for a reply.

God bless,

Lee
