So, I ordered a Zero Gravity ST screen for Red about 2 weeks ago. Got back from DC today...and there was the box (who does not get excited when their mods come in?) anywho...so the box looks a wee bit crumpled but I though...no biggie right?

My screen was in 4 peices. So, off to the phone I go...

1st Call - "Can you please hold" You bet, "Hello" Yes, I ordered a screen and when my shipme...."can you please hold" Yeah...."Click" - dial tone

2nd Call - "Can I help you" - Yes, I just called regarding my order that was dam...."please hold" (Insert 10 minute nap) "Hello" - Yes, I just received (yadda yadda, ya'll know the story already) Reply - "Well, if you will look at the packing slip it clearly states that all damage claims must be reported on the same day"! My response - But I was out of town, noone signed for the crushed box, and when my wife got home YOU WERE CLOSED. Their Response - "Fine sir...I will call UPS and have them come look at your shipment it will be 5-10 working days". My response - So in the mean time...will you ship a new screen? - "Oh no sir, we will have to determine if UPS will pay or not, if not, then you will have to ship the screen back to us and we will look at it to see if the manufacturer can repair it, if not, we will gladly send you a new screen". My response - So, how long should I expect this process to take...as you charged me 2 weeks ago - "Sir, it may take some time...we will notify you when we have a resolution" "Chuckle", "Have a great day sir".

Well....I guess you get what you pay for (no wonder they sold it for $20.00 less the Zero Gravity). Now I am so peeved that it broke so easy I really do not know if I even want it!!!! I certainly hope someone out there has had a good experience with them. My only bad experience...most companies (in my experience) will reship almost immediately and ask you to return the damaged item to them (shipping paid).

Just a heads up (IMHO) ***Utilize them with caution***

P.S. - Thanks for letting me gripe...I feel much better

Consider putting a hold on your credit card payment. Call the CC and usually they do it without a problem.

Parts411 seems to come up frequently (and negatively) in discussions of unsatisfactory internet shopping. I'll second Faylaricia's suggestion to put a hold on CC payment.

The ZG screen I installed on my Sprint RS was great. It did finally break when I put the bike into a small tree at 70 mph, but that probably falls somewhere beyond normal wear-and-tear. ;-)

I've made a few purchases from them, but thankfully I've never needed to deal with their CS dept for anything. All their reviews seem to range from horrible to mediocre.

I second Patricia's recommendation ... if they aren't handling it to your satisfaction, put a hold on the charge.

As an aside ... the ZG screens really are that fragile. I had one shatter into a hundred piece from a relatively minor drop in the garage ... previous to that I had only seen what would happen when you wreck on the track.

1 good experience with them.

1 horrible experience. Trying to return a part that didnt fit. Got charged again after I sent it back, never recieved replacement part. Took over a month to get my money back both times. They refused to believe they double charged me... So I was never refunded for the shipping it back to them..... They dont get my business.

DON'T THROW OUT ANY OF THE PACKAGING!!!!!!! TAKE LOTS OF PHOTOS OF THE PACKAGING AND THE SCREEN!!!!!! Sounds like you're going to end up dealing with UPS. Good luck, sometimes you win with them, sometimes you don't.

In contrast to your nightmare, I ordered an air compressor...a big one...from Amazon...yes, Amazon, they shipped it free via Fedex, but Fedex just opened the back bay door and pushed it out the plane as they flew over their Austin terminal. Thing arrived with the cast iron cylinder BROKEN. Fedex just left it in my driveway, which was okay.

Called Amazon, took about three minutes for the lady to finish setting up both a new one and pickup of the dead one...by ABF this time. What a great company.

Oops, sorry for the hijack.

Thanks for the 411 on Parts411.
