First the update: haven't been around in what seems like forever due to the fact that I've felt so crummy I sold my ZRX and quit riding. (Got an 89 KLR in the garage that's soooo lonely.) Back problems have plagued me for 10 years and I finally gave in. Well, I recently found out why: lyme disease. Lyme manifests itself in many different ways and is often misdiagnosed. As I read over this forum I'm humbled by my miniscule problem but since it only takes a moment to include me I thought I'd ask! I am a christian and have complete faith in God that whatever happens He's in charge, what I WANT however is to be well enough to work and accomplish what He wants me to (and not feel crummy all the time). All prayers appreciated.

I assume you've done the antibiotic treatment? What's the prognosis? Although I haven't really looked into it, it seems that while slow, recovery is usually complete or in advanced cases close to complete. Regardless, you have our prayers. Hang in there and stay around.

Just got diagnosed and waiting on a package from the doc about treatment etc. According to the lab it's bad, 1:128 which is when they quit dividing and counting. Lazy lab folk, it's hard to find good help these days! ;-)

An accurate diagnosis is a key. Best of luck, keep a positive outlook and remember, you have lots of friends out here thinking about you.

Medical diagnosis is not a life sentence. Although the prognosis wasn't what you wanted, it can be something that motivates you to finally do the things you said you'd do "one day" and never got around to.

Stay on track with your doctors, do what you can to make daily living more comfortable, then go ahead and do or buy something you've been putting off for a while.

You got 'em. Keep us updated & ask for riding therapy!

My boss' wife has it, too, misdiagnosed for several years before finding it was lyme disease. It's a tough one but you have the right hot line to get help.

We'll keep prayin'...

For the curious:

http://www.aldf.com/lyme.shtml

If diagnosed and treated early with antibiotics, LD is almost always readily cured. Generally, LD in its later stages can also be treated effectively, but because the rate of disease progression and individual response to treatment varies from one patient to the next, some patients may have symptoms that linger for months or even years following treatment. In rare instances, LD causes permanent damage. (emphasis added).

I am afraid that my boss' wife's case is one of the rare ones. I sure hope that Gabe's is not.
