View Full Version : Suggestion for 8/15 Austin Bike Night

Hello all,
I ran this by AustinTrophy and he suggested I make this offer to TWT groupies for a meet and greet.
I cook ribeye steaks at Little Woodrow's north on Tuesday', South on Wednesday's which makes it difficult for me to attend any of the meets so I would like to offer up a special if any of you would like to come out and meet me. I'll be stuck behind the grill outside but I think it would be a great opportunity to introduce myself and meet folks to possibly ride with in the Austin area.
Here's the deal for TWT folks - $10 will get you a 16 ounce hand-cut ribeye with a baked potato or lettuce wedge. Woodrow's serves beer (some kind of 20 oz special on Tuesdays), wine and sodas, has great outdoor seating and there is plenty of parking. I'll have them block off some spots if I know how many are coming ahead of time.
Let me know if any of you are interested and I will make plans.
Jay

I would love to but the bike may be in the shop getting new chain, sprocket(s) and turn signals.... Will post a firm answer later this week...

Is it by the HEB???

Yeah, they are in the new shopping center on the northwest corner of Parmer and McNeil Rd. Just down the street from my house.

KOR, HEB is on the southwest corner of the same intersection. Are you having to do wiring for signals, or just installing new lights? I installed LEDs in May, didn't like them but still haven't installed the new analogs yet. Kinda like the hand signals, except after dark...

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to cancel due to some job-related stuff (I was really looking forward to the food). I should be able to make it whenever the next one comes up. Hope to see you all there.

Well, I was there at 6:30. Waiting about 20 minutes in the parking lot, no other bike showed up, so went home, and took my girlfriend out instead...

Maybe next time....

Hey BeemerDude,
Woodrow's offers the same deal in Houston. Don't know exactly what day they do it, but I'm pretty sure it's on Wednesday. Better check the local rules for bringing kiddos to the bar before you drag the little one along. Stop by for a steak if you're ever in town.

I think it was 6:30, or at least I will be there around that time....

I might try to ride the bike, I still have not got it in the shop (the parts are in the mail)
(The noise I hear is coming from a worn chain and sprockets, I think)
So it will good to see you Sinjen...

Does anyone have some TWT cards??? I need to get a few... I have told numerous folks about the site and the pie :eat:

Had a great time too, though only 6 of us showed. 4 of us sat together outside, and Jay told us the other two were there, but we couldn't locate them.

Great steak at a great price, and the local "scenery" kept us there quite a while afterwards, too!

Great meeting you guys, and we'll see you at the next one!

I showed up about 7 and got in the end of the steak line. I was little confused that the steak was $13 and that it was taking a long time to cook when I realized that nobody was reading my mind to find out I was with TWT.

Once appraised of my TWT affiliation Jay made things happen very quickly. Great steak w/ huge potato, and a bargain at $10 (they gladly refunded the diff). The tall, cold shiner bocks were a measly $2.75 and as mentioned the scenery was outstanding :sun:

Kudos to Jay for keeping us in mind and look forward to going back. Should have some pics in a day or 2.

Do they do this at the downtown woodrows too?

Hi folks,
Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by last night. It was a pleasure meeting all of you, albeit a very short meet and greet on my side of the fence. One of these days I will have time to join in on the fun. I'm betting you all have some great adventure stories to tell.
Thanks for the kudos and the TWT $10 deal is always good at either location (just be sure to tell us you're TWT!). I'm at the downtown location on Wednesday's - spray misters on the pation and the scenery is great there, too. Can't wait to jump into my trailer tonight...it's only supposed to hit 105 today! Anybody interested in losing weight fast? Call me for details...ha ha
Look forward to seeing you all again,
J
