My bike is still sans chain/sprockets. Today was such a nice day. Due to the lack of posts, I assume everyone's out riding. So, be sure to post your rides!

Darn skippy I was out riding. The weather was just about perfect, and the roads were lightly traveled, which added up to ohe **** of a ride. :dude:

Yep just came back from 300 miles on my 929, boy is my back hurting me! I'm not sure why I subject myself to this kind of torture?

Well, we knocked out our East Texas tour and visit to Hodges Gardens. It was quite a chilly and extremely windy weekend. Temps were typically in the low to mid fifties, although it did get up into the mid sixties late Sunday afternoon. Was great fun and a nice crowd of folks to ride with. I'll be posting a full report with pics and stuff in the Trip reports forum in the next few days.

 Sorry man,
Yep, was out all day Saturday turning 300+ miles up in near San Saba. Then went to San Antonio for the basketball game yesterday. Boy that was a blast.

Hope you get the wheels back up and going. Let me know how the chan and sprocket change goes, I will probably be doing that here in the next few months and would like to know how much of a pain the SV is when doing that.

I kind of cheated. I took off Monday and rode all day. I spent about 6 traffic free hours in hill country just taking in the sites and just having a great time 8)

Oh man!!! And the weather was absolutely incredible no doubt!? Good for you. Wish I could have been there. It is absolutely perfect outside right now, a tad on the breezy side, but the temp is about 75 F with almost no humidity. This won't last much longer :-( Then we get the sweltering muggy days of summer  Gonna enjoy it while I can!

Did you ride RR 580 west out of Lampasas? I tried that route about a year ago but had to turn back just past the Colorado River due to road maintenance. My Roads of Texas Atlas makes it look pretty twisty on the section from there to Hwy 190. Any info you can offer about that?

I decided to post a pic of my ride last weekend. Looks like my riding this weekend will include some of the same! ;)

Pisser. Where did you order them from? or is this through the stealer?

It's not the dealer's fault. Actually, I REALLY like the dealer. Very cool owner. And, they give a 20% discount if you mention the svrider.com discount!

They ordered directly from Sprocket Specialists. They're the ones holding the order up.

Man that bike would look good with polished rims ;-) Or maybe powdercoated to match the frame. TopKoat in DFW will do it for about $75 per rim

I actually really like the dark rims. I think they look alot better than the lighter rims do (on the SV). The Y2K model is the only one with dark rims. A) That gives the 2k a little bit of uniqueness and B) I just think it looks a little badder. (Yeah, yeah, it's only a 650, but a ****** 650, it is!)

Yeah, I like the dark rims better too  . I think they would look great on the Silver SVS (much better than the standard cast aluminum at least). And dont nock your SV too much, remeber its got more get up and go than all the Monsters out there but the 1000 8) . And if you count all the extra money spent on maintenance (or lack there of for the SV) you can get all sorts of fun accessories (like dark rims  )

Yeah, Scratch, 580 was pretty nice. Not realy twisty but lots of long, fast sweepers back and forth for a bunch of miles. Only problem is that it has a little gravel in many of the corners and it seems to get a lot of farm traffic so it always seemed like we were coming up from behind on a trailer or a tracker etc.

Well, the sprockets are in. However, the DID X-ring chain is back-ordered. And, they don't know how long it will be. DAMMIT.

Can anyone here recommend another chain? The dealer said they were going to check availability of Tsubaki.

Again, dammit. :headbang:

Dang! You might try calling other vendors just to see if they might have the chain in stock. Then cancel the order with your original vendor. Man, this must really suck. You're missing some good riding weather :angryfir:
