What:
FM 485: Nice road. The twisties run from a few 45mph'ers to several 60mph'ers and little traffic (mostly locals). The road is well paved until 6 miles outside of Hearne where you will have to slow a bit (90+ down to 70) to watch for potholes. There are also a series of hills that crest quickly giving you a weightless feel and several straight lengths were you can get up to some speed.
Where:
From Temple, take TX-53 east and through Zabickville. Immediately after going through the town you will see the turn for FM 485. From Hearne, take 190/Hwy 6 north just past the center of town. FM 485 dead ends at Hwy 6 and is on the left.
Designation:
FM 485 is the only known name for this road.
Other:
Great places to eat on both ends: Penny's Diner in Hearne and Green's Sausage House in Zabickville.
