Howdy,

Typical mainstream reviews of DS bikes from:

-----

APRILIA CAPONORD Something of a Suzuki V-Strom clone, without the value. Heavy, slow and a handful in the dirt, but the antilock brakes are a smart addition. $12,999.

BMW R1200GS This elegant machine, above, is, well, the BMW of adventure touring bikes. BMW virtually invented the segment; as others have imitated, it has stayed a step ahead. Amenities include an optional navigation system. The R1200GS is pricey: $14,700.

DUCATI MULTISTRADA 1000S What don’t the Italians get about dual-sport bikes? The 1000S, above, is great on the road, terrible off it. A case of “it’s better to look good than feel good.” $13,495.

KTM 950 ADVENTURE S Superman in the dirt, Clark Kent on the pavement. Next year, this outmoded bike gets fuel injection. The weird twin fuel tanks have to go, though. $13,998.

SUZUKI V-STROM 1000 The V-Strom, above, is the Blue Light Special of the group. You can get two for the price of one loaded R1200GS. Least-in-class horsepower and torque, but quick and fuel-efficient at 42 m.p.g. $8,999.

Me, but then none of those bikes qualify in that department, so it's a moot point. :trust:
