Hopefully we can get everyone as excited as they were for the 17th. I am thinking a little less rain will be good though. Who is up for trying this again now that I have the day off. I need to be back about 3 in the afternoon is my only request.(I can always peel off if nec.)
Unfortunatly I dont know the route or any routes (yet). Can someone step up as a leader and show me and some others the way. Show me once and I will gladly volunteer to lead next time. The Chap trail is fine too ??

the first may work for me.....but I have a really busy schedule the first week or so of oct. I will have to see whats going on as we get close to the date. I can lead a ride, but I dont really know any trails nor do I have GPS capabilities. I can, however, lead a ride to boondoxxx (I know where that it...lol), and out around lavon/wylie area....might be some interesting country roads back in there.

Hey bullfrog, be glad to have you out here. I myself have only been on a few DS rides, so still a little slow. Billyji, is very experienced and skilled at riding, kinda my mentor. Firstman usually rides with us but he is jeeping in Clayton. So far it looks like You, Billy, and Me. I should be intouch with Mike(billyji) before the end of the week to confirm everything. Just check back in or pm me if you need directions to our meeting point.

I should know today or tomorrow for sure.
I do not know DFW very well so hopefully the meeting point will be easy to find from Irving.

He has had quite a few problems/complications recently.
So I need to ride!!!
Anyway...
Where and what time to meet???
Like I said earlier, I need to deposit my wife at her MSF course before I can roll. The class starts at 800am in Irving. Hopefully she will let me deposit her early if you guys are gonna start at 8-830....
Hey is anyone else who is going on this ride gonna be passing through Irving to get to the meeting place??? I sure would HATE to get lost in that big 'ol city...

KLR on a trailer behind the wife's cage...
I HATE trailers but she isn't riding her own yet and I am not fond of 2 up-ing.
Sunday morning I will drive the wife's cage to the training site, unload my bike and ride.
I think the trailer makes her nervous so I don't think she will want to tow it around. Also we really can just leave it at the hotel parking lot either.
The place is 4529 W Royal Ln Irving TX 75063
Anyone here live around this area???

Good to hear bullfrog. Mike is coming from Dallas on 75. There may be a good place to meet him and follow him up to Plano. It is not that far. Looks like it will ba a fairly small group, so if we need to hold up 30minutes or so, I don't see that as an issue.
Maxx, you gonna be a shoemaker thursday?

Hey Guys
Sorry I have been out of town. I was hoping one of the guys who went to the rain ride a couple weeks ago would be up for leading us. I dont think up to now I have seen any of them post. I know Get Bent went north and played on a bunch of gravel last weekend while I was riding east Texas.? So I know we can atleast go in the right direction and have some fun. Some of it was dead ends but as long as I am riding and having fun with some new friends I dont care. Do any of you ?
Bummer Mike Thanks for the offer.. I just ordered my GPS so it is in the mail and I doubt it will be here by Saturday. I am not set on the Chapp trail I was actual hoping to run the loop they planned last time...
Anyway lets hook up Sunday and see where we end up...

I found it
Hi, The atlas named "the roads of Texas" has a lot of the chapparal on it. Its on page 42 and is shown as a rialroad line that runs N.E From Merit to Paris. You get on in merit behind an old construction equipment yard on The NE corner of Hyw 36 and FM 2194 and just follow the abandoned RR line Thru Celeste, Wolfe city, Ladonia, Pecan Gap, when you run into some of the areas where the trail is blocked just work your way east and north on the county roads and keep your eyes open for the trail you will pick it up again within a 1/2 mile or so. Same thing when you get to the Towns just hop off the trail and go to the NE side of town and start looking for the trail. After Pecan Gap the trail gets more and more broken up and hard to follow but the country road exploring up in that area is outstanding. Be Careful on the bridges the small ones are easy but wnen you get to the big ones between Celeste and Wolfe city walk them first and make sure all the crossties are still there and you are sure you can make it.
I would come and ride with ya but Im gonna be up in Clayton on a dirtbike ride this weekend.
Have fun and enjoy the exploring! Dennis

Hey folks, where is this Sonic. I do not know the DFW area but I might be up for a ride if I do not hit the trails somewhere. I would come into town from the east on I30. (coming from Sulphur Springs.)
Is the trail mostly dirt and gravel?
I would need to hit a gas station at about 60 miles, would this be a problem?
Las question. Does anyone knoe if there is a grocery store or walmart near where I could park a trailer? Dallas is too far for me to ride to.
Thanks,
Scott

Hey Scott
We are not for sure where we are going. The above trail is an old abadon railroad which is mostly flat and straight with gravel on it as far as I have been told.
The Sonic is in north Plano. I plan to go up 75 and head west on one of the east west roads. Coit is a North/South. I live at hwy 75 and Lovers. if you want we could meet around there and find it together. I will have my bike in the back of my truck.
You know you need to come to Dallas tommorrow and run the cross country course with me. You run the course the day before races ???

Yeah! I finally get to ride with another BRP. I am sure you are a much better rider than me, xr650rdriver. It wil be nice to see an experienced rider can do with it. By the way, I still have the stock tank with about a 70-80 miles before I am pushing, so ya, I will be keeping an eye out for fuel stops as well. Mike, don't forget we are trading out for atleast a few miles. Sounds like a good group is coming together here.
