Well the first few posts on the NW Harris County Ride are confusing and make people to believe it is a NoGo but it is.

We are meeting at the gas station at 149 and 105 in Montgomery between 9:30am and 10:00am. The ride, as I understand from GREASEMONKEY, the Route Organizer, will go from Montgomery to around Bedias and will/may include some SHNF roads. It should be 50/50 on the dirt to blacktop.

As of now I believe we have about 8 riders on everything from an XR400 to a BMW 650 Dakar.:rider: :rider: :rider: :rider:

Guys this will be pretty tame[anythings better than beaumont].We might bail into the forest toward the end, giving folks the option. You really have to go a little further out for the bumpy stuff.Nice ride and a chance for bike checkup before the upcoming trips is kinda how this got started.Euromedic do you work Mont. Co.?

You guys pulled the post just when it was getting oogd
[sorry,had to mike]

Hey,if anyone is trailering up,catycornered[?] from the gas station is a HEB or similar.Iwill be parking there as well as anyone with a trailer/truck.No room at the station.

If you guys are going on a 'tame' ride I would love to go. I have my own gps - if it gets too demanding I can always drop out and find my own way home. But I should have no problems keeping up with the DR-Z, if it's ok.

Georgia, this ride will not be too demanding, I don't think. We are going to try and keep it on dirt and will probably do some roads in SHNF.

If you guy's are doing that route I sent Scott(greasemonkey) it should be a nice scenic ride.

Correct me, but I think it is a Brookshire Brothers?

It would probably be best to meet there, as Scott pointed out earlier, some people will have trailers or their bike in their truck and will need a place to park.

Lets make it the parking lot of the grocery store on the east side of 149 and on the south side of 105. It is either an HEB or a Brookshire Brothers. Between 9:30 am and 10:00 am That makes it easy.

Ok, i believe it is actually Brookshire Brothers. Yes, i do work part time with Mont. County Hospital District EMS. I do not have much dirt experience yet, but willing to learn more so mild to moderate works for me. See you all saturday :sun:

Hi, Scott,

I will probably ride up to there from Cypress. Riding 149 is kind of nice from 249.

Thanks!

That is 11 for sure and 1 possible(GeorgiePeach)

Remember the meeting spot is, Brookshire Brothers East of 149 on 105.
It is withen sight of the gas station on the corner so if anyone cannot find the group and you see 10 or so dual sport bikes going down the road, Well that is what we call in my profession, "A CLUE"!

Any problems call

This has to be the first time my wife Linda has told me to go riding but I think I've got too much to do.....
Truth is I need to work on my bike, which hasn't been touched since Nevada, so it'll be ready for a quick West Texas ride on Thursday....And cut the grass etc...

Have a great time, see if you think some of you can get along on the upcoming Mexico ride....Try real hard Tim.....

Oops, I was off a week ... we are in Ozona next weekend ... y'all have fun and be safe!

I have an appt with the Doc on the 16th. Hopefully I will be cleared to ride, but my ever increasing pile of stuff for my bike is awaiting my attention.
