:-D Just got to back from the May 9th Trackday with Church of Speed at No Problem Raceway in Louisiana. This is a great track with great team organizing the day.

Arrived at NPR 7:30AM, and the gates opened exactly at 8AM. By 9:00AM, we were on the track. So here is the turn by turn. Turn 1 was a little left and After a few laps and establishing good entry speed, (slow for everyone else I’m sure) I was able to make it all the way through turn 3 without getting off the throttle. Turn 4, was eating my lunch in the beginning of the day. I ran off the track twice there. Kevin worked with me and in no time that was just another turn. Turns 5, 6, and 7 were relatively just a prelude to the real fun. Turns 8-14 are nothing but pure joy. Turn 8 is a fast right hander followed by an even faster left at turn 9. A short straight then turn a left at turn 10. Followed by a right on turn 11, turn 12 another left. Turn 13 and 14 are is actually a decreasing radius sweeper sending you back down the straight to back to turn one. I really like this track, great surface with every type of turn.

With a little help (Ok a lot of help) ;-) from Kevin, I was able to really work on body position and getting a rhythm. It didn’t take long after that for my knee to finally touch down. Great feeling. The staff was laid back, attentive and helpful.

I CAN'T GET THIS GRIN OFF MY FACE.... :chug:

:tab Ran off the track twice!? I take it you saved it both times and there was no damage to you or the bike? Glad you had a great time though! I'm very jealous ;-)

Adios,

I was lucky enough to stop a couple feet before the wall....both times. :-| Blew turn 4 the first time and just let off the back brake and coasted to a stop through the grass. The second time I had poor body position and ended up dragging a peg hard... which caused me to stand up and well you know. Almost high-sided it on turn three during the last session. Back wheel slid, I let off the throttle, just barely got back on the throttle before going over. It’s amazing how fast it happens. I need to train myself not to let off the throttle. I have video footage of that one. :-D

I keep hearing about these videos. When are going to get to see them?

This is really the secret to proficient riding in general! Much of motorcycling is counter intuitive. Proper training overcomes those natural reflexes and replaces them with correct reactions. Not chopping the throttle is one of the biggies! Not jabbing the brakes is another!
