Hi All,
I have a fuel tank that needs a good home.
The first one is for a 1980 GS850G. It's in rough shape cosmetically (nothing that a new paint job won't fix), but there are no holes or large dents and the inside has only a very light amount of surface rust. I've coated the inside with fogging oil to stop any deterioration. With a new petcock and a bit of rinsing, it could likely be used as-is. You could also treat the inside with a phosphoric acid solution to convert and neutralize the surface rust. Or go whole hog with the Por15 kit and a $500 paint job...
When I was given my Suzuki, I was under the impression that it was a "G" model and that the tank was bad. I got this one and upon trying to put it on the bike, I found that I actually have a "GL" model and the petcock was bad. That and float problems in the dirty carbs!
I beleive that this will work for any '79 - '81 "G" model.
So...as it is just sitting here collecting dust, I am offering it to anyone that may need it. I am guessing that shipping may be between $20 or $25.
