It is new (or nearly so) but the binding cracked and it is coming apart. :-( The pages are coming out but they are all there and in correct order. Perfectly readable but a bit irritating. At least it's free.
I wrote the publisher and asked if I could get it swapped, but they just sent me a new copy. So I am giving the goofy copy away.

I'll be mailing it by Media Mail since that's nearly free. First person who asks for it here in the thread gets it.

That's something I would like to read. And I would certainly pass it on once read.

Both of my "Proficient" and "More Proficient" Motorcycling books suffer from this illness. I guess the bindery had a bad batch get through.

My Proficient seems to be ok. It was an older, used copy from Half Price Books.
The More Proficient was new from Amazon. You might want to ask Fancy (the publisher) about it. They replaced mine when I brought it to their attention. Told them a serviceable used one would be fine but they shipped a new one. Seems sturdy.

My "Proficient" too. Fortunately my company "sponsored" me with a comb binder. Fixed. If other folks have this problem, I think most of the copy places have comb binding machines, I'd guess they could probably fix it cheap.
