Ok, here I go with an attempt to plan on getting some of us Houstonians up to Scott's the 'fun' way on Saturday. :-D
The last time I went, we took 45 the whole way. BOOOOORIIIING!
This time, since there isn't a set time for 'kickstands up', I thought I'd make it a more scenic trip and see who wanted to come along. Scott has graciously provided a route that takes mostly FMs up through NorthWest Houston and then over and across 45 to his garage for the Maintenance part. He has estimated this as a two-hour trip, but I think it relies on our pace and how many stops along the way to pick up new riders, gas up, etc. I am still a very new rider and do not whiz through the turns like a banshee. In addition, there have been reports of plenty of Officers out in these areas.
So, all who are interested in joining up please let me know so I can set up the gathering point(s). I am down on the SW side (near Stafford) and plan on getting on the road by 9 am, but that can be adjusted earlier or later ( so long as the sun is already awake!)
I can also provide the route with step-by-step maps if anyone wants to get up there on their own time and is coming from this side of town.
I live on the NW side, 1960 @ I45, but will meet you guys anywhere at any time. Unless its pouring rain.....

How about 1960 & 249 by Willowbrook?
There's probably at least one gas station there, I just don't know the area that well to say which one or which corner. I'll take a look tomorrow on my way past.
sounds good to me, just gimme a time. I can probably meet as early as 8am, but I'm not much of a morning person so the later the better :-D

Looks like fun. I currently don't have anything planned, but I will have to check with my better half.
hey rebecca , count me and deb in where do you want to meet , how about houston motorsports parking lot at 830 or 9 ? they wont be open yet , but the stafford pd wont hassle us if were hanging around , we can just say were waiting on them to open ! from there its a straight jump on 59 to the beltway on ramp . unless you would prefer someplace to meet for breakfast , i do ride much better on a full belly and enough coffee ,its up to you ,your the leader of this pack , since nobody else has been there ,,,,,,,,casey

KC - Is Houston motorsports the same as the Yamaha dealership that always has the ATVs out front?
If so, that works. I can grab a bowl of cereal before we go or we can meet across from there at the Avalon Diner for some grub. Up to you.
does avalon have breakfast ?if so thats even better , ya its the yamaha place , used to be lyle lovett , breakfast sound better tho id even go for the jackinthebox at airport and 59 , but thats only because im not picky . if avalon has coffee and breakfast im allover it .

The Avalon is FAMOUS for their all-day breakfast!
I will call tomorrow to confirm what time they open up, but let's tentatively set it for 8:30. That should give us a little time to eat and then be on the road by 9:15 if we're lucky.
Linh - That would put us up on the NW side by about 9:45. There's an Exxon on the NE corner of 249 and 1960.
Jesse - Did you want to meet SW or NW?
I can get to the Willowbrook area in ~15 min, would you guys mind giving me a call when you're done with breakfast so I can gauge when to start heading out?
thanks,
Linh

I will have a few copies of the route in case anyone wants them. If you want a copy before the ride starts, PM me and I'll send you the file (an it's nothing fancy like GPS, just a document that outlines the route and another document that has turn-by-turn maps).

Yeah, sorry - I thought I had written that in a prior post.
So far, it's me, Casey, and Deb for breakfast. I'll probably be there by 8:30 or so, but I won't be having much more than coffee and a snack.
Oh, and I called them and they open at 7 tomorrow, so if anyone wants to have a HUGE breakfast, feel free.
Ok I'll be at the exxon by 9:45. Look forward to meeting you guys.
