I suggested this location and I can't come. I have my daughters that weekend and I will be doing final preparations to leave for Big Bend on the 21st. Have fun!
Wow, right next to the 3 sisters it looks like. It a long way for me but I may consider it with an overnight stay somewhere around there.

Can't make this one - Hwy 16 between Medina and Kerrville is SWEET.....
My Dad is having knee replacement surgery on the 17th.
BTW - He used to work with the owner of Love Creek in the "oil bidness" back in Houston in the 50's and 60's.

I have not called them yet. Since you've been there several times, do you mind calling them?

No problem, I will do it in the morning, I thought about going out there today
when I was in Kerrville but I was running so late I passed so I could get to my customers in Fredericksburg on time.

With the group size listed so far they are fine with us at 11, you can take
off the +2 with me as the girls have decided to go the movies and see Happy Feet.
I am going to plan out a nice route out the leaving from NB or Blanco depending on how many want to ride out their as a group. I will post up a meet place tomorrow

Nice day for riding, and some good eating as well. There were 8 of us there

Rosco and his wife
Dan and Dani
Joseph
Chris had to bail right after lunch, I got itchy for the sisters right after I ate
so I headed out for some twisty fun with Lee in tow, I think I spied TXSlide
working the hills on the FJR (Man I love those bikes) and we saw the rest of
the group later in the day. Logged around 450 miles of fun today
That was a great ride. My first for that area and definitely not my last. It was nice to meet everyone. I look forward to seeing yall again. Bud and I were originally going to visit the bike museum but it was just too dang nice to be stuck inside so off we went. 530+ miles later it was a full day of riding and I was back at home with a big ole grin on my face.

It was a perfect day for the ride and I was glad to see and meet everyone there. We even found out the Chis works in the same building as my wife. It's a small world!
We had a great ride to Medina and back from Leakey where we were staying at the D-Rose Inn.
Upon returning to Leakey we had to unload Dan's Mean Streak from his truck. The radiator got caught on the ramp and coolant started leaking everywhere.
Dan was really disappointed that he would be staying the rest of the weekend in Leakey and didn't have a bike to ride. Fortunatly, my wife (Patrcia) doesn't have much endurance, so she offered her FZ6 to Dan so we could go ride the 337, 336, 41, 335 Loop. Patricia wanted to stay at the cabin and get supplies for dinner.
We got almost all the way around the loop and were less than 15 miles from home base when Dan High Sided and was thrown into the rocks. Although that was horrible! He was extremely lucky!!!
1st - He lived to tell about it. There were 2 crosses less than 100 yards away where a couple ran off the road last month.
2nd - EMS and Sherrif got there very quickly considering where we were. It seemed like an eternity, but all thing being relative they got there fast.
3rd - None of his injuries will be permanent. He fractured his shoulder blade and his elbow. The ER doc thought neither would need surgery.
4th - He was wearing his helmet. I'll try and get some pictures of it later, but it certainly hit some of those rocks hard!
He's extremely sore and covered in bruises right now, but in good spirits considering.
I found out that the EMS crew in that county is volunteer. They receive no funding from the county. My hats off to them. They provided an invaluble service and are not compensated for it. They deserve some recognition.
Several people stopped and offered assistance. Thank you to all of those good samaritins.
Here are a couple photo's we took before the accident.

Sorry to hear about Dan....but...he lived to talk about it which is a good thing! And yes, budsrex it was TX SLIDE you saw in the hills. We had a great weekend. Weather was perfect. We just didn't work the schedule right to get to Love's that early. We did roll in for some desert about 4:00pm though. Sorry we missed everyone, we're really sociable people, we just love to ride and ride and ride..
Sorry to hear about Dan's misadventures. Glad to hear he's going to be fine. Let him know we're thinking of him.

Aww jeez man. I haven't been on the forums since Saturday. I was bummed all the way home about Dan's bike, but now.... well lets just say thank god for helmets, and people smart enough to wear them. Everyone keeps telling me to wear mine...
Dan buddy you're in my prayers for a speedy recovery and hopefully I'll see you back out on the twisties soon man. After all, I need another loud/obnoxious cruiser rider to keep me company!

Hi guys, Sorry I missed y'all Saturday - stuff happens darnit. Glad to hear that Dan is OK - hope this hasn't soured him on dating the sisters again - 336 can be a real *****.
You're right about the EMS here. There are two paid paramedics and the rest are all volunteers. They do a great job in response times considering the area they have to cover.
The weekend was gorgeous - I'm so jealous - maybe next one, sigh.

Hey Slide how do you like the FJR out there? I have read about
some cornering clearance did you have any issues two up? Thats
one of the bikes on my short list and after looking at the new
Concours 14 I am not sure I dont like the looks of the FJR better

he's alive!! thanks for all the well wishes. i'm doing better now but REALLY hate typing w/one hand.
i couldn't have had better riding mates than Ross, Patricia and my wife. i owe them tons of thanks and gratitude (and an FZ6).
i don't believe in luck, i believe that God was watching me. Joseph, get a good helmet!!!
give me a few months, i can't miss pie runs for too long!

There are two paid paramedics and the rest are all volunteers.
And believe me, "paid" is a very loose term in cases like this where the majority of responders are volunteers. I've heard good things about these people although I've never met them. Hats off to them for doing it out of the kindness of their hearts, otherwise it would be a very long wait for someone from a larger system with a paid staff.

I really appreciate that. It's so cool how generous everyone on here is. But yeah unless I have someone on the back of my scooter I'm good. The one I have just has scratches and stuff where it's been carelessly sat down on the ground and stuff. But it's never been in a spill or anything and it's actually a pretty nice helmet, I just need to wear it more often than just when it's cold out, lol.
