Hwy. 341 in Arkansas going N from 14 just NE of Mountain View to 201 is a race ready raod. It runs for about 25 miles and goes through a unpopulated Ozark National Forest. There are no houses or driveways and very little traffic. The road is excellent with many turns and elevation changes. The surface is typical Arkansas very sticky. There are no cops. It is very unpopulated. The catfish at Jacks fishcamp is the best in the state. Stay at Calico Rock or Mountain View. Once you go there you will always return. It is the sport bikers dream. Anybody wanting to go there let me know and I will join you. If you need places to stay send me a email. Regards, John

Thanks for the tip! I may have ridden AR 341 before but not 100% certain; so many good roads up there.

BTW, you might catch a little grief about implying that it's O.K. to race on a public road. I think I know what you mean though; it's just a very nice stretch of road where a rider can enjoy a umm... "spirited" pace. ;-)

Oooh Arkansas....

Uuuuh, actually I wouldn't recommend ANY roads North of I-40 in Arkansas. The road surfaces are all under construction, not at all suitable for motorcycles and there are wild kamikazee chickens everywhere.

Yep, tell everyone to stay away from Arkansas......snicker, snicker!! :trust:

Any more when somebody asks me where I like to ride, I tell them in the Texas Hillcountry!!

Beth and I did it on our recent trip up there. Not so much fun on a big ST1300  On the VFR or the GS though...

I am going to ammend this a bit. The LEO's start monitoring this road in Mid-May Until about the first week of Sept. And, they monitor it on weekends (Sat. and Sunday year round) so watch it.

Thanks for the info. I was looking for this. Wow your in Claremore. My folks live in Chelsea. My bud and I thought about trailering up there and then making the ride over to AR. Maybe we can meet you for the drive there.:rider:

Be warned that if you are riding 341 on weekends IT IS patrolled. The rangers will write tickets and they know how popular the road is. There is even a guy that sets up out there to take pics of bikes that come by, similar to the Killboy.com site for Deal's Gap.
