New Years Day was cool and windy but decided to try out the local
offroad track another try.

A recent gearing change due to CS nut loosening and the splines wearing on
the stock 15t forced me to mount the 14t and it made a world if difference
in the manners of the bike on the trails...
The park was much more crowded than my last trip and it seemed like a lot
of new xmas bikes made their way to the park for break in.
Due to the recent rains some puddles had developed and made for some
slip-n-slide lessons on the DOT C858's.
The rear did very well and I was rather satisified with the ability to
get me through the water filled ruts.
The front however was another story. It loaded up pretty bad and once it
did it was like having a street tire on ice.
I would just slow down and do the walky-walk to get through the bad spots.
Lucky for me most of the trail was nice an except for the mud holes, riding
was just fine.
I still want a lighter bike for riding trails, something I can drop and
not risk my daily commuter.
I like 4 strokes and I'm looking at the CRF230.
Although the KDX220 is very nice also.
