That less than 400 miles a year. :eek2: It's not even broken in yet! How far is Plano from Deer Park????????
Beautiful bike, somebody should snap that up.

I'm perpetually in the market.
Have been looking only at 6 gens, though.
Does the 99 have linked brakes?
Thanks,
Rob

That's not a dual sport, and will not make it down the beach, but if you must, Plano is about 350 miles from Deer Park.

I've always wanted a VFR and I'd be tempted to sell by Nighthawk and replace it with this one and then buy a DS afterwards as my next bike. Only wish it wasn't red

You can get blue body work from Canada. It will be very close to the color of your Nighthawk. It is an easy swap. Would look something like this:

Looks better if you strip the black paint off the rims... :trust:

Non Vtec. That nonsense started with the 02 models ;-)
Also, the 98-99 has open loop FI so there is a fast idle lever on the bar, similar to a choke for cold starting. The 00-01's are closed loop, meaning they have an oxygen sensor after the cat, and don't have the fast idle lever. Just start and go. The FI open/closed thing is the only difference between the 98/99 and the 00/01's.

I'm a bit partial to the VFRs in blue. mine still has black wheels though, I gotta fix that at some point...
I'll ride this one down too :trust:

Come on down, we can do a street bike ride then a DS ride.
As a side note, (not to hijack this thread) but I just found Houston Motorcycle Salvage over on Red Bluff in Pasadena. Looks like them have tons of plastic for anyone needing some bodywork replacements.

Very nice bikes. When I was in the market for a new ST bike, the pre-VTEC Interceptors were on my short list. Good luck with your sale.

If it was a 2000/01 I probable couldn't resist. I sold my first 2000 model after 18K and missed it enough that I bought another one I still ride. Whoever buys this VFR is getting a fantastic motorcycle for a very good priceIMHO.:rider:

Is there a difference other than the manual choke? It doesn't seem to be a problem at all. I usually don't need to use it.

The mirrors are much more attractive in 2000, but they are a bolt on replacement. I do not recall any other differences.

I did the same thing. I sold my '99 and missed it so much that I turned around and bought a cherry, low mileage '00 VFR six months later. Love those 5th generation VFRs!

Amen. That's the *only* thing I didn't like about the '99 I once owned. They have these stupid rubber sleeves that slip around the mirror stem. I was never able to get the left one to stay in place.

Is this bike still up for grabs?
I have a friend that would like more pics if you've got them.
