The day that I bought my new 06 DL1000,(April 2006) I saw this Bright yellow pit-bike sitting on the showroom floor and on an impulse, bought it on the spot. Except for the larger tires, rims and engine, it Reminded me of several Honda mini-trails I'd had in the past. I installed a heavy duty mono-shock spring on the rear, so that I could ride it comfortably around my property. Has only about 5 miles on it and it's still under factory warranty. I only rode it three times around my fence line. Has had the first oil change and is immaculate and garaged at all times. I paid $1,700 for it plus the cost of the rear spring.
