I'm part of a dirt bike ministry we are setting up in Austin. Last year was the formative year and we are finally kicking off the real fun part. Don't be turned off by the word "ministry" It is a good bunch of folks and riders of all skill levels and we like to get out with the families and ride. Younger kids and teenage boys and girls, are all out on our get togethers.
Here is a cut and paste from our forum on the Texas Offroad Network (http://www.texasoffroad.net/forum_php/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=dirtbike_torch_public)
TORCH is planning a ride at Crooked Creek Cycle Park on Saturday Feb. 10.
TORCH promotes a family friendly atmosphere and people of all ages and riding abilities are welcome. If your calendar is open, we would like to have you join us for a day of fellowship and riding.
For more information on TORCH or how to get involved, please visit our website at: www.torchriders.org.
Crooked Creek (www.crookedcreekcyclepark.com) is located North East of Waco and features an extensive trail system hidden in the woods of a beautiful 500 acre ranch. Trails range from easy to technical and most will accommodate both bikes and ATVs. Crooked Creek also features a 2 jump TT track, vintage style MX track and a junior size MX track.
We are planning on arriving at Crooked Creek around 9:00 A.M. and staying until dark, so feel free to join us when you are able. We are not planning anything for lunch on this ride so please bring a lunch. There will be several people taking photos and video for the TORCH website, so be sure to wear your favorite gear and show us your best moves. If this ride is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will post an update on this forum and send an email to the TORCH distribution.
The entry fee is $10 per motorcycle/ATV rider & $5 per spectator
Directions to Crooked Creek:
Take I 35 to the North end of Waco, Go East on 84. Take 31 East at the
31 and 84 split. Turn right on FM 939. First gate on left after Happy Swaner Rd. is Crokked Creek
If you have any questions about this ride or want to be added to the TORCH ride email distribution, please email TORCH at info@torchriders.org.
Please pass this along and bring a friend. We hope to see you out there!
This is by special arrangement with the owners of Crooked Creek, so it will only be us and regular members out there. Please come join us.
Oh yeah, post up if you think you might come so I can pass along a general headcount and so I can keep and eye out for you.
