finishing up a deffensive driving course this evening, and saw these paragraphs, thought it was good information to share.

I like the first paragraph.

Give motorcyclists without protective clothing a wide berth. Their poor judgment regarding their need for protective clothing may also be an indication of poor driving skills.

Texas law requires all operators and passengers of motorcycles to wear helmets. In Texas, motorcyclists may be exempt from the helmet law if the person is at least 21 years of age and has successfully completed an approved motorcycle operator-training course or is covered by a health insurance plan of $10,000 or more to cover injuries in the event of a crash.

Interesting. But thats kinda like saying that just cause a cager doesn't drive a BMW or Cadillac that they are unintelligent
Painting with too broad of a brush.

I would have preferred it to say this:
Give motorcyclists a wide berth

And yes, TX is a required helmet state, they just don't enforce it

I prefer this:

"Give Volvo drivers wide berth. Safe cars for bad drivers".

Replace Volvo with any brand SUV.

Texas bikers don't have to wear a helmet if they are old enough (21) and have "adequate" health insurance. So it's not quite a "required state".

I find it ironic that you can ride without a helmet if you have taken the MSF rider's course.
(since you have to have a helmet for the course :rider: )
