Well I just read the thread about TWT having too many forums, hope this wouldn't go over the limit.
I got this idea when reading about the newbie group rides and also just curious how individuals handle different riding situations. No matter how long you've ridden bikes, there's always room for improvement! Members could post "lessons learned", links to other sites with riding tips, or ask "this happened to me today....what would you have done?" or how countersteering works, or how we handle certain crisis situations etc.. Perhaps there could be a format inforced similiar to the Roads and Routes forum to make searching easier. (just an idea)Example:
Subject line: Approaching intersections that appear to have grease or oil on pavement
Hazard: Dropping bike while turning or loose footing while waiting for light to turn :-( . (been there...close call!)
Possibilities to circumvent hazard: stay on side of lane away from center wear oil build up usually is with both feet on ground. If turning, pull up on that side of lane you are turning so you won't have to cross potential oil slick which could extend through intersection. blah blah blah
I think there is already a good amount of helpful riding tips on this forum (like your group riding techniques and rules Tourmeister) and it could be centralized in one place and added to since this should be a #1 priority.
It would be a good feeling knowing that someone (including me) avoided potential disaster from something they read up on here...Whatdaya think guys????????
