I'm in dire need of some new treads and noticed Cyclegear has a nice discount on Bridgestone tires. Anybody have any insights on the BT014 versus the BT020 and those tires as compared to Cont Road Attacks?
Eternally grateful... :hail:

The BT 014 is an excellent street/sport tire with plenty of grip and a neutral feel. Naturally, they wear a little faster than the 020 ST tire since they have a softer rubber compound but not as much as you might expect. I get @ 3.5 - 4k miles on the rear and @ 7k on the front.
The 020 are fine for any sort of sane riding, and even do pretty well for faster riding. Some people report marginal wet road performance, but they seem OK to me. The front tends to cup a bit after you get a few miles on them. For me, the 020 usually goes 4.5 to 5k on the rear and 8k on the front.
Can't comment on the Road Attacks since I've never mounted a set.

I loved my 020's when I had the Warrior. I never noticed any faults at all when it came to wet roads. If fact those were the tires I had on when we went and road the Dragon in the rain. I wouldn't hesitate to put them on my bike again. Great tires IMO.
I also used the Road Attacks a lot on the Warrior. They do last longer than the 020's by a little bit, but take longer to heat up and get sticky, and their wet weather performance wasn't up to the 020's IMHO.
I used BT020 on my Tiger. Very good tire but didn't wear as long as I'd like. Although a majority of my riding is on county roads with moderate to poor asphalt.

There were new BT020's were on my Sprint when I bought it, I went with Metzler Z6's when it came time to replace tires. There are many others that I would spend my money on before buying the BT020's.

Ditto, my bike came with 020's and they were good tire, though the front did cup a bit after hard miles on it. Grip and handling were great otherwise. I ran two rears to a front them went to Pilot roads which I don't like as well. Gonna go Metzler next.

Always searching for a better tire, I ran BT014s on my 851. The tires were unremarkable...which may be good. Feedback, wear, turn-in, and grip - all neutral. I replaced them with my old standby - Power Sports (race).
If theye were at a good price, go for it. They are a far better tire than most of us mortals can judge.

The new 021 looks like a much better tire (replacement for 020). You might check it out as well.

The new BT014's are on and gingerly breaking them in. Haven't fallen over yet, so they pass the first test. :rider:
