I have two Shoei RF900's and I like the fit and comfort of this helmet a lot. I wea a medium, and would prefer another Shoei, just a newr mobel that vents better.
I am open to other manufacturers, as long as they are good helmets.

Scorpion EXO-700... DOT, Snell... it is the best venting helmet you will find, noisey (ear plugs :trust: )
I would have to go with the X-11. I love mine. It is noisy though.

I have an 700 and a 900 I think. The 900 was a large and too big and the 700 was a Med and too tight. I sold them to get these RF-900's I currently have.
I forgot to mention where I get mine at. The three online shops that I compare prices with is:
www.helmetcity.com
www.helmetshop.com
www.helmetharbor.com
If you want the best price, you will have to call and speak with them directly. Shoei uses MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) pricing so all of them will list the same price on the Internet.

You must have tried the 400/700... both full face. IIRC, Cyclegear carries them to try on... Honda of Houston has them too ;-)
I know several guys that switched from a X-11 to the 700 and were very happy. It just vents really good... plus has pockets for speakers, big plus for ST types ;-)
I'm a helmet w... just say I have a few helmets :lol2:

Maybe I should look into a Scorpion again. I was pretty green when I gave up on the others.

Far from it. I have one and it vents OK. But my Aria Astral-X and Shoe X-11 both vented MUCH better.

No rush here, mine work fine, but if someone had a deal on theirs I might nab it. I like my Shoei, but I did not pay new prices either. :lol2: (see the KLR penny pinching turd polisher??...that's me!)

Well, I'm a penny pinching Strom owner - same $95 KBC for the last 3 years. I've re-glued all of the outside vent covers (some more than once) and I've had to tumble it dry once... (don't ask)

I have the Scorpion EXO 700 and it is a good helmet for the money but it is not a great helmet. Venting is good but I think there are better options but at a higher price. It is loud but I wear plugs all the time. I heard OGK makes a dang good helmet and the price isn't outrageous.
I had a HJC LT20 and I loved that helmet but it is old technology.
I think I've bought all my helmets except one at helmetharbor.com Service, prices, and reccommendations are great.

Love the venting on my X-11, but they are pricey.

Old friend in Kansas City had to brag that he just got one yesterday. Then I reminded me I ride to work daily while his sits in the garage

Bones,
I looked into get the XD last year, as I figured with more room up front I would get less fogging of my glasses.
I was talked out of buying one by a guy that owned one on the basis that you get a lot more wind noise coming in the front of the helmet. Now that I always ride with Satellite radio or ear plugs I am considering them again espically with the prices down here.
In Canada the dealers wanted $1,200CAD for the helmet. I checked out the prices at CycleGear and they only wanted $475US

www.motorcyclecloseouts.com was $400 or less. It was a funky color scheme though. Nice business/people, I lived less than a mile from the storefront in Kansas City.

Picked up a Shoei Z-II and it's much better and was a screaming deal
Now I just need to scuff it up and paint it. Multi color is not my thing
