I have some spare parts taking up room in the garage and want to pass them on to someone who could use them. My bike is a 1985 model XL600R but these parts will fit several model years before and after that and some XRs.

1. 17" x 2.15 Rear wheel and sproket assembly with Chen Shing knobby tire (about a 140.)
2. Front and rear tires. 5.10 x 17 and 3.00 x 21 Kenda C755 DS knobbies.
3. Swingarm for mid 80s XR350. Fits XLs too.
4. Fork trees. Fit XL and XR.
5. XR 350 seat.
6. a box full of smaller items I need to filter through tomorrow.

Will take pictures tomorrow. My bedtime now. If you're local to Tomball/Spring/Cypress/Magnolia area, I can meet you to arrange delivery after work hours. Just PM me or reply here.

Thanks

Bob

Here's the rear wheel. It has bearings but no axle.

The front and rear tires. DOT legal, DS knobbies. They look funny w/o air in them.

XR350R seat. Small rip on one corner. Good for a spare.

Swingarm for XR350R with shock linkage. Fits some XL models, I know the XL600R for sure. A little dirty and rusty, should clean up with steel wool.

Hopefully someone wants this stuff. I hate throwing stuff out others could use. I'll keep it about a month then toss it.

How much tread is left on the Kenda knobbies? I could probabaly use a spare clutch lever as well. Mine is '83 XL600R

I'll take the wheel and triple clamps. They'll actually be for my dad's NX650, which I have at my house, but he lives near you, so he can pick them up. I'll have him email you to work it out.

Probably 85-90%. I don't really know what they're supposed to look like new. But they look decent. Tread blocks are not rounded over from from use. The tires are designed for the road and light dirt riding. I put on real dirt tires immediately when I bought the XL600R. The previous owner only rode on the street an dirt/gravel roads so this was the appropriate tire for him.

Them and the clutch lever are yours. PM me with a phone number and we can discuss more.

Sure thing. Just a little washing and scotchbrite will get the wheel and triple clamps looking like new. One of the wheel spacers is kind of rusty though. But that's why this stuff is free, it's been sitting a very long time.

If there's any more Austinites wanting stuff, I could probably take the time to strap this stuff to the Beemer and ride out there on a Saturday. Or I could take the SUV and do some mountain biking in Zilker or City Park. Pipe up.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll pass on these. I've got Avon Gripsters on currently and was looking more for an aggressive dirt tread like the D606 for when I know I'm heading into mud or the rough stuff. Thanks for offering.

In that case, I'll take the tires too.

Just saw the post about coming to Austin. I'm just north of town so if you want to bring that clutch lever, I'll take it off your hands. :-)

Been PM'ing Gotdurt about mountain biking on the Zilker Greenbelt. If we can get him away from his "chores" I'll make the trip. Maybe I'll go anyway. Got a bud here who would MTB with me as he's layed off right now. Plenty of time on his hands.

Let me reply to each of you tomorrow. I'm doing a chore right now. Garage has been emptied, cleaned and now I have to put EVERYTHING back in in an organized fashion. Thanks for all the interest.

I'll make plans for a trip to Austin to do some MTB'ing and get the parts out to you guys. Makes better sense than mailing stuff out.

Let me get this straight so far...

Gotdurt: tires, rear wheel, triple tree

Cbat: clutch lever (you know, I believe it's a front brake lever)

Sinjen: Swingarm

Guys, send me a PM with your name and contact information so I can call and arrange a meeting place. Gotdurt, let me know if you want to hit the trail.

Clutch or brake either way it's always good to have an extra one handy. :trust:

Bruce, I'm still waiting to hear from my friend about riding in Austin. I'm sure his girlfriend has kept him tied up all weekend (they're in the honeymoon phase, no surprise we don't hear from him much). I'll try him again tomorrow. I'm shooting for this coming weekend. Sound good?

Don't really want details of him being tied up by his girlfreind :eek2:  This weekend has possibilites. I'll be at work over Friday night until 11 Saturday morning so anytime after that is possible.

I missed something. I thought you were gonna ride mountain bikes. What ride? I have tickets to the Longhorns baseball Saturday and Sunday with the wife. I may give the Saturday tickets to the boy and let him take a Friend. Meeting somewhere to hand off a clutch lever is cool though. Besides, the XL600 is tore down in the garage right now waiting on some carb parts. I have to get her ready for the Texas Adventure ride in April. I'm riding the LC around town.

I missed something. I thought you were gonna ride mountain bikes. What ride? That is the ride. You didn't miss anything. I plan on being at the Barton Creek Mall by 9 am on Saturday to meet Casey (Gotdurt) for some MTB fun at Zilker/Greenbelt.

Did I get your number and miss it? We need to come up with a time to meet. If I remember right, Pflugerville is on my way to Austin. We could meet before after, I just don't want to stray off 290 and add a bunch of time to my traveling.
