I'm in too....weather permitting....fill me in on what route you guys come up with. Squeaky are you still running with your stock tires? I still have the Tourances, so I can't do anything knarly, i.e. too sandy, or too deep gravel, or heavens forbid.....mud.... I seem to remember one of the DS guys talking about a nice bluebonnet filled road last year. Would they be blooming about then? I know 159 is beautiful when the bonnets are in bloom.

The chicken ranch run was the day that I had just bought and picked up my GPS from Tourmeister, so I had no route yet as I was a gps newbie. I am sure we can come up with a dirt route, I will have too look. So count me as a maybe for the pie run.

The roads leading to New Ulm are the same ones we traverse on the weekly SMR with the Houston TSBA. As such we go by the cafe every Sunday morning. Of course they're closed on Sunday's - so this will be the first time we've had to sample their wares. Looking forward to it!

I usually try to meet up with Zim at his place in Temple, if he doesn't leave too early. I suspect that will just be slabbing down 35 and probably a home departure time of 6:30 or so.

Like I said, I am unsure if I will be up to it after a west coast trip...

I was doing some planning with MapSource & thought about intersecting Kurt's route in Taylor.

I am probably not going to know if I'll be coming until early Saturday morning. I would opt for the more direct route since I am an old geezer and it will be a long day for me. So, don't cut short your fun on my account, I can always shoot for the 9:00 meeting point as discussed above. Just let me know where the TC is. :lol2:

The main reason I am wishy-washy is that prior experience with long airplanes rides makes it very hard on my back. If my back doesn't feel good on Saturday morning, then it will be a miserable day for me...

We're going to drive the cage to Texas Traditions for breakfast at 8am. After breakfast - if the weather has cleared significantly we can re-evaluate. Home's just 10 minutes or so from the eatery, so there is a possibility...

However - I do not want to take responsibility for anyone else. This is most certainly a "ride your own ride" kinda deal.

Leaving for Texas Traditions now. Hope to see you there!

The Dual Sport run fro Brookshire has been postponed at least 45 min to an hour. Brookshire @ 9:45 as it stands now.

ALSO - with this amount of rain, the dirt in the morning ride over to New Ulm has been all but scrubbed. If any street riders want to group up in Brookshire (Jack in the Box I10 @ 359) we'll be leaving around 9:45-10:00. If it clears enough, we'll add the dirt back into the equation after lunch.

I was all primed for this one, but alas, the house flooded last night. My wife got up to go to the bathroom at about 11:30 and stepped onto a cold squishy carpet. The living room, kitchen, dining room, hall, and both bathrooms are all ceramic tile and were all about an inch and a half deep. We worked until about 3:00, slept for a couple of hours, and got back at it. We've done all we can do for now, so I'm taking a break and letting the fans do their thing.

FWIW, my rain gauge is marked to five inches, but really goes to something over six. It was full this morning.

Anyway, Edom is right here in Van Zandt County, so barring another disaster, I'll make that one for sure.
