In another thread, we have been discussing suspension improvements from Race Tech and Traxxion Dynamics. I am just curious to see what people have heard about/from Traxxion Dynamics. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

You might want to talk with Andy Mercer at

He has an excellent reputation. See this thread -

There are definitely some bad reports from the WERA board. Max has made some enemies and it's hard to separate the BS from the legit complaints, but I get the feeling I don't wanna mess with them and, really, there's no need. Between Race Tech and Lindemann, I can get what I need. Both these outfits have a fantastic record of PROFESSIONAL race wins in AMA.

Before I went to Traxxion, I'd take it to Marcus McBain who is local, north Houston. I believe he calls his business Racing Performance Services ( http://www.roadracinghelp.com/ ). Or Andy at Metric or Patrick Hart at Motorcycles Unlimited on off 1960 are quite good with suspension and suspension set up. I believe Andy and Patrick both use Race Tech stuff. These three are local to Houston and I'd trust quicker, frankly, that Traxxion. I've had positive personal experience with Lindemann.

Marcus was Traxxion's local rep until he had a dust up with Max over something I never quite understood. You should ask Marcus what he thinks of 'em. :lol2:

I've dealt with Patrick Hart before, I'll recommend him too. I have Traxxion Dynamics work in my Buell forks and Race Tech work in my FXDX forks. (springs, valves, seals and fluids) Made a very positive difference to me as I ride aggressively on all my bikes, cruiser or sport.

Yeah. I've talked to both Andy at Metric Cycles and Patrick at Moto Unlimited. They both do RaceTech work. Andy is RaceTech certified so I can bet what his opinion his. :) Patrick is also a RaceTech fan and provided me quite an insight into the major differences between the two RaceTech's and Traxxion's technology approaches.

I just wanted to broaden my horizons on opinions about Traxxion from riders. I have talked to Traxxion's sales rep and he is also very courteous and knowledgeable but I have not dealt with Max directly.

Thanks for the lead on Marcus as well. I have heard of him and would like the scoop on Traxxion in addition to his recommendations on what I can do.

My father had a guy at Traxxion go over his forks and install new springs, check them for runout, replaced bushings, and polished the internals and whatnot. Essentially the works. The guy doing the work was very professional and set up my father's bike for him while he was there. I don't think my father has any complaints whatsoever.

Just got back today from RaceWorx USA in Cresson, TX where Jim Gambora installed Traxxion fork springs for me and put in a new Traxxion (Penske) rear shock on my GL1800. Bike has 69,000 miles on it and with the new Traxxion setup, has a firmer ride without the harsh jolts when hitting bumps. I'm a satisfied customer and I'm impressed with Jim's approach to suspension work. He's located right at the Motorsports ranch (racetrack) at Cresson.
As previously stated, the folks on the GL1800 forum who have had the Traxxion setup installed have nothing but positive comments. Max MacAllister, who owns Traxxion, is a bright guy and is opinionated, but has the facts to back his opinions up.

I had Traxxion re-work the forks on my 2002 GSX-R750, as well as set up the Penske shock that I had on the rear. While I loved the work, I absolutely can't stand Max. Find a good Traxxion reseller who you can work with and things will be fine, but don't expect Traxxion to be on our side if you have any disputes about either the product or the reseller. The reseller makes all the difference in the world.

I have Traxxion cartridges springs and a Penski shock on my FZ1 that I got from Traxxion. I worked with Lee at Traxxion and had no problems, if fact Lee is a great person to do business with. The bike really handles great, however just changing springs to the correct weight will make a major improvement to its handling. Also, if your looking for an higher performance fork upgrade the Traxxion cartridges a step better than the Race Tech Gold Valves, of course they cost much more too.

I had previously had Hyperpro spring and they are much better than the stock crap. Of course these are very good progressive springs and Traxxion does not like these types of springs. However, the progressives are very good compromise for the street and track. AS for a quality suspension goes there are lot of good shocks on the market, i.e. Wilber, Ohlins and more.

Cheers

you asked, so...
Traxxion (Max) has had alot of bad dealings with people in the industry, but saying that I haven't heard any real negative things about his product.

I vote for Andy at Metric (Racetech)...best guy in town, no contest.
