I am looking for a good beginner bike. Preferably a naked or sportbike 400-600cc. some cosmetic damage ok, but I want good mechanical condition. I have roughly 1500 to spend, something along the lines of a gs500.

Welcome to the site!

There is a really nice GS 500 listed right here in our For Sale section. Great choice for a first bike!

Here (http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16548) is the one Scott mentioned. It's a little more than what you're wanting to spend, but it looks like a great buy on a really nice GS500.

good deal. that waiting on the bike is not fun. it'll be worth it once you get a bike though :rider:

if you're in need of gear, be sure and check out the Pay It Forward section for cheap/free stuff.

Well I still have a 1992 BMW K75 with less than 30,000 miles on it. It belongs to my son and he was asking $2,000 but I think he will come down a little on it. His e-mail is bigty34@hotmail.com
Name is Tyler. It has the digital shift indicator, clock, heated grips. It is not a bad bike for a beginner, Or an old timer either. Get with him. Or e-mail me at son_r@msn.com
