Chris (mrr1150gs) and I took a trip to New Mexico and Colorado between July 17-20. I know this took awhile to post but I was waiting for Chris to write the trip report.

Littlefield, TX - first hotel found at 2am

Well, at least someone finally posted something. You should have at least told about the rain we rode through and hydroplaning...

Chris, if you aren't gonna take the lead, you can't complain about the scenery

Was that yall's first time in that area? The run up around Silverton is incredible isn't it! You just don't want to blow one of those corners! Two GS's and no offroading??!! :scratch

We did the Lake City cutoff. Pretty tame, but it was 16 miles of dirt road.

A lot tamer that the hours of road riding in the rain. Especially in the dark through New Mexico with the lightning, rain and wind.

The ride from Silverton to Ouray had an even higher pucker factor than the ride from Durango to Silverton. At least the roads were dry.

I asked some locals about the pass from Silverton to Lake City, they said it was too rough for anything but bikes with knobbies. Especially if it rained.
