Okay, this isn't much of a modification but here goes...
I took the warning stickers off of the Bandit. The ones that say don't mount anything on the fairing that will inhibit steering and don't use harsh abrasives when cleaning the windscreen. The windscreen sticker left some adhesive behind and I'm wondering what is a good way to remove it without damaging the finish?

Honda Polish on the windscreen. Petroleum based solvents will ruin a windscreen. I've had to buy more than one replacement. You think I'd learn the first time.

I use the yellow bottle lighter fluid - the kind you refill a cigarette lighter with. Removes the glue residue almost instantly and the fluid evaporates once you're done. I've used this on plastic, glass, lexan, and metal and never had an issue.

I use 3M™ General Purpose Adhesive Remover. It is the best I have ever found for removing stickers and emblems off of vehicles. It does strip off the wax, but it doesn't hurt the paint. I have used it for years on all types of surfaces, and have never had an issue. I even used it on carpet once to remove ATF. I had to leave the windows down in the sun for a few hours afterwards though. You can pick it up at O'Reilys.

Will WD-40 harm the finish?

Not a bit.

A blow drier. Heat the sticker or decal hot enough to soften it but not so hot you cannot touch it or damage the paint/plastic. I just removed all of the warning stickers off of Cindy's '93 Nighthawk in this way after they had been on there for 14 years!

Then I took it to my little cheap 4-wheeler and did the same thing. Works great.

You know, some of those abrasives use harsh language! :sun:
