Sunday on the East or North Trail head there will be the 3rd round of the Trail Riders of Houston (TRH) Family Enduro held. People start showing up very early and the riders meeting is at 9am with the start at 10am. If you are interested, just show up. To compete you must become a member of TRH, but you can come by and find out more if you like.

To get there you take I45 north from Houston to FM1375 which is south of Huntsville by about 10 miles or so. You go west on 1375 a few miles (im not sure exactly how far) just past the Rangers station on the right you will come to a multi use trail sign on the right that indicates you turn right just up ahead. When you turn right you will see a sign for a Trade School, or Chapaquin School or so (sorry its not exact, I need to pay more attention). You take this road which I believe is 233 north to the school on the left and keep going past it and the road will curve left and keep taking the road down until you see the Multi Use trail head on the left. To ride the trails you must pay a $5 fee to the forest service and retain the tag on your person.

Come out if you are interested or just want to watch or hang out.

There will also be a TRH meeting on Monday if you are interested in that as well.

Details for both the Family Enduro and the Meeting can be found at http://www.trh-cycle.org

:tab Man I can't wait for the kids to be old enough to do this so we can go out there and play together  Maybe I could rent some kids in the mean time? Beth and I were just talking about this kind of stuff last night. Are you going out?

Heheh. I wish I had young kids to go out there and put on a bike and ride together with.

I am going to be there on sunday for sure. I will be the guy on the blue bike. :-D Haha

The members are a nice bunch.

Oh yeah, the Caney Creek Enduro is coming up too toward the end of September. TRH puts that on every year. Some years its just a State Enduro Championship series race, but last year is was a National, and some years its a qualifier. Info on that is on the website as well.

Think they would freak if I showed up on the GS with the knobbies? :rofl It would almost be worth it just to see the look on their faces. Of course I would not take it on the trails :-|

Adios,

I think you would get a lot of looks. Many people also ride street and I think some have BMWs too. I know of two people that have GS' of some sort. I think it would be great.
While people are out during the enduro the place is somewhat barren, but after the first loop many dont do the second. The Kids, womens, and doubles classes only ride the first loop. Many other people help run check points etc.. But at lunch everyone is there at the trail head, and after the race we all hang out and they tally the points up and give out awards.
