Hey folks,
Thought I had posted in here but looks like I didn't. Came across this site after a friend told me about it.

Live in the Stuebner/Louetta area. Just getting back into street bikes after a "sabbatical" (a.ka. kid's grown up). Rode alot in the 70s/80's ('73 CB750, '78 KZ1000, '74 Z1 bracket racer and '80 Z1R) . Got out of road bikes after getting married but rode a XR600R offroad during the 90's. Last month or so I've been getting caught up on all the changes (lots has changed) and narrowed my choice down to a FJR and the ST1300. FJR matches my ride style and still will be an excellent tourer.
Since my previous riding took place in Florida I'm getting the motorcycle endorsement in Texas. Taking the MSC class at Awesome Cycles this weekend and will be legal next week. It's been killing me going out to the garage and just staring at the FJR and not being able to take it out. Ok, I lie, I rode it around the neighborhood :) .

Will definitely be signing up for some of the rides coming up. Really looking forward to riding with you.
:-D

Welcome to the group and back to motorcycling! Bikes have changed a tad since you were last aquainted with them. :-D

Hope to see you around!

Thanks Nevlec!

Finished up the MSC this weekend and got the license endorsement done yesterday. I got to do my 1st real ride on the FJR tonight after dinner (30miles). Did a mix of stop and go and highway.
Amazing bike, just a short ride but its everything I thought it would be. Amazing how the FJR hides its weight and how the engine pulls RPM effortlessly when the throttle is rolled on. The electic windscreen was nice and allowed me to keep the helmet shield propped partially open (script glasses worn).

Congrats! Sounds like you are definetly doing things in the right order.

I am a real admirer of the FJR, seems to be a great blend of sporty and touring ability.

Take a look in the group rides section for upcoming rides. I ride on Sunday mornings with the TSBA (www.tsba.org). We meet at 8am in Brookshire (Jack in the Box right off I-10).

See you around!

Rumor has it that the FJR is a great ride; I've certainly enjoyed mine. Congratulations!

P.S. The silver ones are faster. ;-)
