High Island

We managed to sneak off for a short trip. I've been wanting to explore the backside of High Island. G.E. showed quite a few roads and some dredge piles that were worth checking out.

Setting up camp on a nice day.

The Red Fish were really moving this weekend and some pretty serious fishing rigs were along the beach.

This road doesn't go all the way to the dredge piles. It stops about halfway at some man-made canals in the middle. You can see the piles in the distance.

The road going up was overgrown and barely visible.

Once I was up on top the road was so overgrown, it was pretty much impassible.

Again it became impassible. By mid summer it should be dried up and probably will make a good ride all the way across the top.

Not her cup of tea and isn't really mine either.:lol2: I rode in that direction, but turned back after recalling some of the horrific sites from past rides!:eek2:

Yeah, the DRZ is based off of a year of following ThumperTalk. I pretty much knew how it would be before I got it. I really wanted to buy an ''E'' and plate it, but no one in Houston had one.

The RV is a blast. Brenda doesn't do tents and she hates hotels. So if she's going with me, the RV's going too.

There's just something about mud that's always made it more fun.:lol2:
