View Full Version : Hello From Mrs. Dower (Angry Little Asian Girl)
Yippee!! :-D I've finally got my license and my bike. So now Will (Dower) won't get to go on any more trips by himself. ;-) I went to Dallas Friday and picked up a 98 GS500E. I haven't riden it yet . It is currently at Motorcycles Unlimited being lowered.
Can't wait to get out, ride and meet the people I've always heard about. :-D :-D :-D

I'll have to find another hobbie now. Skydiving is fun. ;-)
:chug:
Welcome to the sport! How tall are you that you lowered a GS550? Ride often, you'll wonder what you did for fun before. :chug:

Welcome and congratulations.
I am hoping my wife will take the MSF in October after the wedding. We have been riding around the neighborhood and she seems to enjoy it once I get her on the bike. When I mention it she always has too much to do, doesn't feel like it, etc. but once she is on she won't stop

I'm scrapping 5'1.
Not too bad, I've seen plenty of women riders around your height. The shortest was 4'11". She rode the little Savage cruiser for all it was worth.
Some of the makers are even making bikes specifically for the vertically challenged, which IMHO is fantastic. I noticed Saturday that the F650GS comes in a lowered version now. It looked like I could walk over it.

That's the bike I want once I've become more proficient and comfortable at riding. Will (Dower) and I went and looked at one and I love the look of it and the fact that it's a dual sport (kinda). Maybe in a year or so. :-)
Congrats and welcome aboard!

:tab Cool!! Glad you found a nice bike. I like the sport fairing and the chin fairing. Don't let Will spend too much time on it, those are very under rated and fun bikes! If learning from Will drives you crazy, come see me and I'll take you riding. I specialize in patience with new riders ;-)

Congratulations, Lauren. :-D It is always nice to have more wives riding (not that I am right now  )! I think that you will really enjoy it.
Scott is a very good teacher if you are interested and the roads we ride on are not quite as crowded as the ones by your house. ;-)

Lauren,
Congrats on passing the MSF class & getting a bike. :chug: I'm sure you are anxious to get on Sierra but it's a great idea to get her lowered first. It makes things alot easy if you can reach the ground. After a while that isn't so much an issue as I learned from riding Squeaky's "Ally" home from Eureka Springs. I was on my tippy toes but was very careful not to stop on any kind of slope.
Once you get some miles under your belt, we need to organize a ladies ride. We've even discussed doing a track day which TWS offered on Mother's Day in the past. :-D

YAY! Welcome to the Sisterhood!
Scott is a VERY patient instructor and his love for the sport shows in his desire to have everyone ride SAFE.
We'll get the ladies' ride together before too long, don't worry.

Can I come along? I can ride like a woman, if I try real hard.
Lauren,
What are you angry about today?
When are you doing your first track day?

I'm angry that it's finally taken me this long to get my license and bike. As for my first track day, it will be a while yet. Maybe in 6 months or so. :-(

Yes, but you have been having fun with the little XR100 in the mean time right? ;-)

Scott, I probably will take you up on that offer, but so far, Will has been a pretty good teacher. :-D

Some personal mods may be in order for you to make the ladies' ride...

Hey, I started it with good reason.
What is better than motorcycles and women?
Women on motorcycles!
Hey I am not trying to get in touch with my femine side, don't get me wrong...

Hey, I always observe the 3 foot rule. Especially since being forced to attend a seminar at the kid's school on sexual abuse.
Where will it all end?
But, we digress. Lauren, welcome to the group. Look forward to riding with you. So be careful out there, relax and have fun.

Lauren,
:tab Any idea when you'll get the bike back from Patrick so you can start riding it?
Adios,

Will and I will be picking up the bike from Patrick tomorrow after work. That's when the fun begins. :-D We'll be hitting the parking lots after that.

Cool, have fun and try not to get discouraged if you goof up anything ;-) Remember, it's okay to make mistakes, that's what beginners do, hehe. Trust me, I've made lots of them
And we expect some pics of you and the bike soon!
