Ok - so I've gotten to the point that i really don't like the Bridgestone tire on my 750 sport (OEM tire)....even though I have quaite a bit left on the tire it's just too.....hard of a compound..

Looking at:
Metzler Sportec M1

and the Pirelli Diablo

they are all about the same price on DMTAonline.com

wondering what everyone has to say about these tires and if anyone prefers any one over the others? Monte has always had the M1s on his monster, and I have to say I can tell the difference in the compund.....much stickier, which i like....even if it means I'm going to be going through tires quicker....that's fine.

What kind of Bridgestones came on your Ducati?
I had Bridgestone BT020s and 010s on my SV and they were both great. My Gixxer came with 010/011 (front/rear) and they handle very well.

The new Bridgestone BT014 is supposed to be an exceptional sport tire.

Also, you should look at Dunlop D208ZRs if you're looking for a sport tire.

So, you don't care about wear?

I'll have to wait to tell you what kind of tire untill after I get out of class...

I don't care about wear in that I am willing to put a faster wearing tire (softer) if it means I have better grip....I am willing to make that trade off and am willing to pay for the tire(s).

I had a set of M1's on my last bike and LOVED them. SUPER sticky - I'd give up life to have a sticky tire that I trust.

However, I hear the new Michelin Pilot's (Not the sports) are better than the M1's - they are just as sticky but last longer and warm up faster.

Check 'em out.

:chug:

You may want to look at the Pilot Powers. They're supposed to provide excellent grip while providing superior wear. According to Michelin, anyway.

I have to say the Pilot Sports. I was using those for a while. I really like the soft tires for carving up the road. Personally, I have a set of wheels with really soft Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa track tires, and a set with Dunlop 208zr tires for long rides.

Cool, the M1 is a good tire. I know people that swear by them, and people that say the Pilots wear longer. I think it depends on riding style. If you find yourself wearing a flat spot down the middle of the tire while that new tire gloss is still on the sides, I say get a firm tire. It will last longer and you aren't gonna miss the improved traction. On the other hand, if you like 45 degree lean angles at 100 mph you NEED the soft tires, but, as you can guess, they don't last as long. Anyway, enjoy the M1s.

Good choice - I loved mine and may jack them off of my old bandit running around town...haha

I think I'm going to give the Pilot Powers a try if I can find a good deal on them...

I'm sure some other people will have some place where they get good deals, but I have found that www.DMTAonline.com has the best prices on every tire I have checked...good place to check if you want to
