Riding with Dirtbike Dave & Jammin Jerry

Went for a day ride today with Dirtbike Dave and Jammin Jerry. We made a loop from Austin over to the Willow City Loop, down to Luckenbach, and then back to Austin. Only got rained on for the first 1/2 hour or so and then it turned into a nice day. Paved roads only as I figured the dirt roads would be very wet & muddy from all the rains. Every low water crossing had water & I lost count of the number of water crossings we did.

Neither Dave or Jerry have ridden much of the Hill Country so they got a good intro to some of the wonderful motorcycle roads west of Austin.

The red salsa there rocks. We emptied the entire bowl. On the other hand, that green stuff just didn't do it for us (though Jerry seemed to enjoy it some).

The restaurant was packed when we got there about 1 p.m. and there was a 10 minute wait for a table. Clearly the word is out on this place.

The green salsa is ok but the red is GOOD. There has be a wait everytime I've been there regardless of the time of day, late lunch to late supper.

Richard, what is it with you? You can't even take a day ride without water crossings. Looks like a fun ride, I notice you took the Enchanted rock road, one of my faves, as long as there's no Winnebagos. See ya at the TAR '08.

After qualifying for that award, my wife has upped my Dual sport "permission" requirements from kitchen pass through visa all the way to passport with picture id and fingerprint. Once things drop from condition RED (already down from BLACK), I'll be back on the trail, but I doubt it will be in time for Mexico. Hot iron cools slowly you know (actually she worries / cares a lot when I get injured, go figure). :pray:
