No Hypermotard yet, but Ellen and I are going to have a serious talk about it when she gets home. I am going try and get a test ride this weekend.

Alrighty then. Calling all DFW peeps. Let's meet up in SW Ft Worth at the Starbuck$ on Bryant Irvin Rd. I'll put together a 3 hour tour out in the Parker/Palo Pinto Co. region. Think we can make it all the way to Possum Kingdom with enough time to get back to Ponder? I'm thinking it would be real tight, but I'll look into it. I haven't been out there since I was a little tyke.

Ok, after a little perusing, PK is out of the question unless we hit the road at about 6am. That's a little earlier than I'm interested in. I'm looking at a route of about 110 miles up there. I'm still tweaking it a little but, so I'll post it up later this evening.

All you GPS freaks may want to hold off on plugging my route in. I'm still fine tuning it just a bit.
I'll probably ride through Anetta (North and South) on FM5, which my original map doesn't include. There was some construction on that road about a month ago, but I'm hoping it's finished. Anybody know? It's a nice stretch of road, so it would be nice if it's finished.
The only other possible change would be to continue west on 1885 and 52 all the way to Whitt, and then head back toward the east on 2891. That would put us at about 130 miles for the route inbound to Justin. I guess we could keep that as a alternate, time permitting.
I'm liking the sounds of these changes, so here it is, an updated map (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=4849+Bryant+Irvin+Rd,+Fort+Worth,+TX+76132&daddr=Winscott+Rd+%4032.667600,+-97.473700+to:US-377+S+%4032.624250,+-97.524670+to:32.686198,-97.68425+to:E+Lake+Dr+%4032.769460,+-97.671900+to:N+Lake+Dr+%4032.826990,+-97.715750+to:Friendship+Rd+%4032.850310,+-97.753230+to:Zion+Hill+Rd+%4032.859750,+-97.823080+to:Harwell+Lake+Rd+%4032.866480,+-97.867410+to:N+FM-52+%4032.954560,+-98.015200+to:Erwin+Rd+%4032.969650,+-97.854940+to:Erwin+Rd+%4032.959230,+-97.794720+to:Sarra+Ln+%4032.924950,+-97.771440+to:Ponder+Tx&mrcr=2,3&mrsp=3&sz=11&mra=dpe&dirflg=h&sll=32.748013,-97.738495&sspn=0.423312,0.6427&ie=UTF8&ll=32.886507,-97.612152&spn=0.845299,1.2854&z=10&om=1).

We are going on a 350 miler on Friday (Bowie - Sherman - Paris - Emory - Plano). So we may want the quickest way to Ponder. I will have to ask if they want more fun! I know I do!

Hey AggieC05 I may have to challange you on the small tank claim
Its not that the tank is so small. Technically its a 3.4 gallon tank, unfortunately I am missing the little plastic straw like thing on my petcock so it doesn't feed all the gas from the right side of the tank first. I also do not have a reserve due to that as well. So I have found I can use about 2.2 gallons before the bike dies. So I typically take it no more than 80 miles without a stop to make sure it doesn't leave me stranded.

OK tank size we are identical but you are the winner with the missing part changing your useable. But heck I only get around 100 MPT with all 3.4 gallons. On 2.2 I would be lucky to see 70-75

RoadHawk: there are no reservations for these events. It's just an excuse to ride somewhere, get rewarded with pie, meet lots of like minded folks, then ride some more. The sign up list is simply a way to keep an approximate head count so we can warn, I mean, notify the restaurant of the number of folks coming. This is all in your best interest by ensuring that there will be enough pie to go around. :trust:

1. Nope, I won't be making it to this one. Too far and I've got to work until 11pm tonight. Y'all have fun though!
2. Yes, I like keys. I like 'em cuz they start bikes - and I reaaaaaly like bikes. I like to take any opportunity available to ride any/every bike there is to ride. Some remind me what I am missing in my own garage and some remind me what a good thing I have back home. That's over 70 confirmed. I hope they have enough room. :eek2:
No kidding! I plan on getting there early and just have pie and coffee. None of the group rides start as close to me as I'd like this time. Here's the route I'm pondering  right now if there's anybody in my area that would like to hook up. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=Flower+Mound,+TX&daddr=Cross+Timbers+Rd+%4033.054280,+-97.201680+to:FM-2264+%4033.103050,+-97.445760+to:FM-2264+%4033.180480,+-97.438480+to:33.449204,-97.489929+to:FM-455+%4033.358420,+-97.247440+to:N+Hwy+156%2FN+TX-156+%4033.182090,+-97.287500&mrcr=3,4&mrsp=4&sz=11&mra=dme&dirflg=h&sll=33.348311,-97.339554&sspn=0.300559,0.52597&ie=UTF8&ll=33.212265,-97.185059&spn=0.602053,1.051941&z=10&om=1

Same here and a shame to ride just 30 miles for pie, I may meet you on your loop somewhere, might do the St. Jo thing if time allows.

Well, you better change me to a maybe. I will be setting out early in the morning but depending on the weather I might not make it all the way. Need to be able to make sure I can get back tomorrw night, and 600+ miles potentially wet might be a little diheartening.
Hope to see yall but enjoy the pie if I dnot make it (like that needs to be said)

A warning about FM 407 from 35 W to 377 - all the corners are beat down and rutted chip-seal with shifting from last summers drought. Looks good on the GPS but you gotta slow down and stay in between the ruts to be safe. Thank you TXDOT and Barnett shale drilling.

Myself and probably my GF on her bike will be leaving around 9 to 10 am from the Frisco area. Anybody want to meet up and ride up to Ponder with?
What time are most getting to Ponder?

Yeah, I'm familiar with 407 too and you definitely need to take it easy west of 35 due to the surface. Thanks for the post Larry!
There are hardly any corners between 377 and 35W.They fixed the corners between 35W and 156.Its between 156 and 287 you better watch out.

If I remember correctly, that's the direction that the pacman crew will be coming from - Wayne, please take note...
Also, if anyone is coming from the KLR Tech Day, they will be riding on that section of 407 (all roads lead to Rhome). And, yes. the KLRs should probably stay on the road... :lol2:
Have fun but be careful, folks!

Duly noted. I may just skip that section and jump onto 114 over to 156.
Thanks for the heads up, guys. :thumb:

Coming down pretty good here....
Gary, called your cell. I probably won't make the ride in the rain.
Looked at the weather map in motion -- it's all moving North-West -- right toward Ponder. Argh.
At least I didn't wash my bike last night.
