Got caught in the rain yesterday and had to turn back. Enough already!

Washed the bike, installed my CRG shortie levers, carbon ventilated clutch cover and went for an early ride this morning to beat the rain. It was fun!!

The bike's torque is like a big fat giant rubberband, if that's the way to describe it. Wind it on and off and the power is there all the time. Comfortable but felt a bit of numbness in the groin area after a while from the buzzing of the engine throught the tank cover. Not too bad..but kinda strange and not unpleasant sensation though.

200+ mile ride about 50/50 wide sweepers/technical and straights. This bike is not in it's element on fast sweepers..she needs tight technical roads. Found myself over steering through many of them. Plenty of juice and wind it on too fast coming out and she'll lift the front wheel. Wheeeeee!

Got about 109 miles before the low fuel light came on and put in about 2 gallons.

It's funny..you feel like you're riding a small dual sport but man when you need to pass 2-3 cars at a time, the engine can sure put out with the best of them. Very confidence inspiring.

90+F today and she did not even feel hot or bothered and neither did I. Even in traffic snarls. Not like my 1098S which is absolutely tortuous in traffic jams. I have to say that this bike will make a really good city suburban daily commuter. No overheating issues, comfortable and nimble in traffic. Civilized but with enough capability to get really stupid when no one's looking.

I recommend the CRG shorties as they really fit in with the smallish minimalist look of the bike. The clutch pull is so light compared to the 1098S that you really won't find it a problem. To me the regular ones just seems to long for this bike.

Still got more breaking in to do before the 1st oil change and get the exhausts and cams installed. With a claimed 10% more hp in the mid-hi rpms? I can't wait!

I looked on the Austin Ducati site and they list all of the MSRP's for everything except the Hypermotard. Can you tell us what that might be?

The 1100S MSRP is $13,995 and the 1100 is $11,495.

This bike is seriously tempting along with the KTM SM and I read about an Aprilia competitor that could be on its way.

I was at AMS Dallas yesterday for the Moto GP viewing and wrangled a demo ride on the Hypermotard. Stewart from AMS took me on a 15mile run through Dallas. What fun!! Lots of useable power and after you get used to the upright riding position, rather like a motocross bike with the elbows out and forward on the tank, you could just think what you wanted to do and there you were. Lite, agile and fast. Believe the Hype! A great bike for the short haul and around town or the track. Don't spend all your extra money on accessaries you'll need some to pay the traffic fines.

Just got back from test riding the "S" demo. If I had to boil down my impression to just one word, it would be, "RIDICULOUS", or "STUPID", or "RETARDED".

... I GOTTA HAVE ONE!!!!

Everything about this bike is over the top! The front brake is beyond excess! They're actually too good! Stoppies were instant and effortless. Wheelies were the same way. I cracked the throttle in 1st (no where near wfo) and it came up instantly. Clicked 2nd, then 3rd (stayed in 3rd 'cause the test ride was in downtown Dallas, of all places). I had to set it down after about 100 yards because I couldn't see anymore...I was smiling too big!!!

It felt light, nimble and planted. Although the riding position felt strange at first, it didn't take any time at all to get used to.

As with the brakes, the suspension is beyond great. Sitting on it before the ride, the susp felt way too tight. Once on the road, it felt better, but still a little tight (I weigh 175 lbs).

So, I made my decision. I'm buying the base model with the termi. I see absolutely no need for the "S" ... unless you're Ruben.

And I ain't. :)

I think it's a shame to call it the "base" model, because there's nothing "base" about it. It's still stupid, ridiculous and retarded, and I can't wait to pick it up!!!

3gear wheelies on a demo, did you ride by yourself or what a company guy?:eek2:One of the company guys "escorted" me. I told him beforehand I wanted to "play" a little. He didn't seem to mind. Everyone who rides this bike knows that all common sense evaporates the instant the starter button is pushed. :rider:

On 7/7 I bought an '06 Monster S2R 1000, which I thought was a keeper.
2 weekends ago I rode a friend's Hypermotard.
Yesterday I sold my Monster.
Only 4-6 more weeks till my HM-S arrives! :D
