Found this one at Tractor Supply.
I think it's a new item from Kolpin Plastics.

I can even fill it without removing it.

Tucks in there real nice. Lots of room for the suspension to cycle.

This is the bracket that comes wth it. (The one with the round hole.)

Never did like the idea of carry a gas can strapped to the top of my bags.
It's only a gallon and a quarter so it will only add a little more than 10 lbs.
At least it will mount low.

It has a nice taper on the bottom. Just right for muffler clearance.

Course I mounted mine on the opposite side from my muffler.
I really thought I'd try it because I am always riding with someone who's always short on gas when we ride. I've got an IMS on my KLR!

Awesome job Curtis. You going to make it to Clayton this year? I'll keep a eye out for your tent poles. :trust:

I don't have it on my calendar yet.
When is it?
I'm hoping to make a ride to the Pacific North West in late Summer.
May need that gas can after all.

Great job. It is just as you had described it to me at Breakfast. Now I don't have to worry about filling my tank if I go riding with you. ;-)

They make a "white" water container that uses the same mount...

I used the same container last year on my trip to Alasaka.
It fit inside my left saddlebag on the KTM .

mmm ... wonder if I could get a full NATO gerry can on the wee ....
NATO cans don't mind being on it's side, providing the top has not been forced in the worng way.
5 gallons = 30 pounds.

I have a 3.5 gallon NATO gas can I was going to use. It's the same with as the 5 gallon only shorter. Had it for some time.
Even considered trimming the 5 gallon NATO can widthwise and making it slimmer.
Got the body flanging tool to do it with.
Saw this one at Tractor Supply and had to have it. Cause of the cool mounting bracket.
I will put Clayton on my calendar. Always fun if you have the required PERMIT!

Alejo, just get a tour tank and be done with it. For around $120 you get a really nice tank and full mounting hardware. I'm about to put one on my Strom to give it some longer legs between fuel stops.
