Well, I got my MC license when I was 15 (which was the legal age for under 100 cc's back then). That was my only license until I turned 16.

Where I lived (Minnesota many many many years ago), if you lived on a farm you could get your "Farm Permit" at 14 but the MC endorsement had to wait until you were 16. I got my MC endorsement during a blizzard on my 16th B-day.

Got my first ticket when I was 10, puckup truck with no license. Fine was I had to wait till 18 for auto license. Could get MC at 16 so for two years, that was my only "legal" transportation.

Same here. I've held a Class M endorsement every since.

Didn't get the "M" until a couple years ago when I started riding. I took the MSF, went down got the "M" and then bought a bike a couple months later.
edit: never mind I didn't quite understand the question.

Man, the chicks dug it when I pulled up on this baby...of course mine didn't have the rip in the seat. 63mph, flat out, level road, feet on passenger pegs, left hand on fork tube, helmet tucked over instruments.

Same for me. And got my introduction to how cages and bikes share the road a few months later when I went flying over the hood of a Ford Gran Torino. Somehow I think it would hurt a lot more now.

Got my MC license when I was 14 (Oklahoma, 125cc and under), permit at 15.5 and DL at 16. I had a CC at 19 until they changed to the CDL licensing.
In Oklahoma if you had the under 16 MC license, it automatically converted into a car learners permit without drivers ed. To get the learners at 15.5 you had to be enrolled in drivers ed.

Actually, got mine at 14 and mine said "motorcycle only not to exceed 5 BHP" until I was 16 and took driver's ed. Once I got my car license, it became "motorcycle also".

When I got my first bike, I lived in West Germany. At 14 years of age, a bike under 50cc (my was 49), all you needed was liability insurance (14 DM per year). No license needed, unless you were caught on post by the MPs. Then you had to be 16 (I think) and licensed. I was in trouble with the MPs a few times. My Yamaha 50 would not outrun a police car :-)

:rider: I got my M/C license at 16. As an under motivated student, I wasn't allowed to get my car license until I had a "B" avg. on my report card. The M/C endorsement didn't effect Dad's insurance like an under motivated teen would on his car insurance. I guess I just told on myself. Really, I am much better now. :trust: RH

I've never had a "motorcycle only" licence so I guess I can't participate in your poll. I had a license to drive a car before I had a license to ride a bike. From age 16 to around 24, all I had was a bike.

Car at 15, M/C at 22 (decided I'd better get legal before I got caught) and have kept even during the years I didn't have a bike. Still don't have a street legal bike but I'm still legal.

I rode my Honda 90 when I was in the eighth grade, no license. Got my MC license at 14, my freshman year. Wasn"t that much of a deal to drive a truck around Victoria either.

Permit at 15

'M' at 19 - Up to that point, I only knew about motorcycles from CHiPs.

Got mine at 15, 5 BHP only, Took the side panels of the Honda CB 350, Didn't full a DPS,(Joe Hunt) still remember his name,,,(36years ago) The judge put me on license probation for one year for breaking a license restriction. Had to sell my New 350 and drop down to a KH 100cc Kawasaki, I really wanted a Yamaha 100 twin jet
but the bikes were rated at 8.5 BHP.........
