Who is it up for a short notice DS ride? Here are the options...
I will probably run you from Mckinney to the Chapparal trail and back.
or
Exploration of Collin County and Hunt county back roads.
Anyone interested? I will be on the 450EXC, so plan accordingly.

That flat track does look fun. How much will that place cost a non-member?

I believe that the entrance fee is $10.
I was there before the Texas monsoon season came and the track was very nice.

I'd be up for a ride from McKinney to either place, if it can be in the afternoon. I can get started around 1:30 or later.
Does that work?

OK, so at last someone is in...
How about a 3 or 4 departure? I live well on the way to most of the east bound departures, so we can meet here at my place. I will PM you.

I might be interested. Where would be the meeting point? So 3 or 4 PM?
I am not 100% sure yet - depends what I get done in the morning, but a good possibility I am in...

Got it - 4 PM is good - see you there, then.
(By the way, I am old, slow and inexperienced. Maybe I should start at 3...)

Well, I guess it's all about picking which direction you ride. From Backspinn's place, the showers were east, west, & northwest. So he wisely headed off to the northeast.
We got in 50-60 miles of back road pavement, gravel and a touch of dirt (maybe 100 feet?), and went a little ways up the Chaparral (sp?) Trail. That one turned out to be surprisingly wet - the showers must have gone thru there earlier.
I tried out the horizontal riding position (left side) upon encountering the first 20 feet of real gumbo. Christened my brand new DR! Sorry, no photo - it's already been washed up, evidence removed.
Chris, thanks a bunch for showing me around that neck of the woods. I enjoyed the ride. By the way, the tail light is not broken, it just came unplugged from the flexible stalk.
Cheers,
John
