Between all the cycle crash reports and the murderer on I35 gunning down people trying to help him, I think I need to sale my home and vehicles, and find a place close enough to walk to work (with my mini 14 slung across my back).

Caged today (too hot for ride home) and had a tailgater shoot me a nasty look for not going fast enuff for him. Texas does NOT drive friendly.

Man injured in motorcyle crash on U.S. 377

A Granbury man was knocked off of a motorcycle Monday in a collision with Chevrolet Suburban on U.S. 377 near its intersection with Farm Road 1187, according to reports.

Douglas Thompson, 42, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital by helicopter ambulance, said Deputy Chief Jay Six of the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department.

Thompson, who did not wear a helmet, hit the pavement face first and he lost some teeth, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Six said. He was listed in fair condition Monday afternoon at JPS, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The crash was reported at 10:03 a.m., according to reports.

Thompson, riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was southbound on U.S. 377 and was trying to turn left onto FM 1187 when he was struck by the Suburban driven by Jackie Parks, 69, of Stephenville, Six said.

Thompson landed on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of the highway and the motorcycle was run over by the Suburban, Six said.

Parks would be cited for not stopping at a red light, and Thompson would be ticketed for not having a motorcycle endorsement on his driver's license, Six said.

I'm glad he's not hurt too badly. No MC license. Hmmmm. . .

At lunch today I was out on Northwest Highway in Grapevine, and I had a guy talking on a cell phone run up way too close to me. If I can glance back at speed and see he's on a cell phone, he's too close. I flashed my brake lights at him several times, and he got the idea about the sixth time. Sometimes I wish I had a big Stebel airhorn mounted on the back of the bike. You know, that's not a bad idea . . .
