I love the logo for the forum. In fact, I'd like my helmet to have this exact paint scheme (proud to be a Texan, and a Two-Wheeled one at that). Can you contract with the guys who make "Helmet Skinz" to produce a copyrighted (by the forum owner) custom Skin for the members, with the cost recovered and a good donation built in? I'd like my helmet to match our logo, with maybe a small "Two Wheeled Texan -www.twtex.com" tag line on the back.
Benefits:
1. Help us identify each other on the road.
2. Protect our helmet's finish
3. Proud Texan and Two-Wheeled Texan showing off
4. Easily replaced if damaged (unlike custom paint jobs)
5. New versions could be done for special events such as Rallys, Rides, by bike models, etc.
Here are a couple of relevant links:
http://www.motovationracing.com/streetskinzinfo.html - with $29.95 for a personnalized skin. For a forum / Lone-Star-flag-matching-our-logo-pattern "skin", I'd go $35 to $50. If we can take orders, we can probably get a pretty big discount, maybe even pre-paid.

Thoughts? Been tried and died? Anyone else in at $30, $35, $40, $50?
Thanks! -KilroyUSA

Tourmiester,
While you're kicking back in the A/C (and yes, I'm wimping out too, this 100+ degree head index and sauna wet have me in the car for my commute through this week), I've found one other potential vendor: http://www.skullskins.net. It's a hokey website, but again, it may be a good fundraiser.
One additional thought, either separately or added to a helmet cover as a logo, how about reflective tape with TWT, Two Wheeled Texas, or the Helmet logo?
Anyway, just some ideas for you. I've give any of these a shot if they look worthwhile for the site. Thanks for the quick reply. -KilroyUSA

I wonder if you can cut out holes for the helmet's top vents? That's really my biggest concern.
This is Texas, after all, and we need all the airflow we can get!

The air might flow through the material if it is sheer enough. Otherwise cutting holes without hemming the openings might lead to the material fraying and coming apart.

But a possible source for additional sales/fund raising opportunities......... :lol2:

gawd I knew it will hunt me down one day.... the guy with the tron bike...
the skin is good, but 100F temp is not so great, the sheer net is great, dont get me wrong, but as mentioned above teh "airflow" concerns are a little more accurate than I would like to admit.
yes it actually "holds back" air... but as someone mentioned before, you can if your skilled enough (cannot make a template but for the helmet you wear) to cut a "X' fold it back under and sew it in place preventing a fraying of the material (it being mostly spadex and nylon)
should not be too difficult to be done, I have considered doing it myself, but lack of time and too many hours at work have prevented me, if someone wants me to bring teh "spidey helmet" at the thursday GTG let me know and Ill drag it along.
if you have more question you can email me directly at pbureau69@hotmail.com

What a cool idea. I'm up for that. Or I'm down with that. Whichever. I'd buy for my helmets.

Kinda cool. I'd probably buy one, and I'm pretty cheap. I'd probably try the nip 'n' tuck trick too.

I need to contact them again. After their initial response, they never replied to follow ups and I just got busy with all the server problems
