Y.A.F. (yet another fatality) :(

Stumbled across this tonight - headed downtown from Memorial Park on Memorial Drive. On the other side, outbound, police had the entire roadway shut down.

Young rider, sportbike, hit a light pole on the right side about 100-200 yards before the Studemont bridge. What was left of the bike was on the left side of the road. Police told me there were no skidmarks, and that it was a particularly nasty wreck.

it makes me sad every time I hear of another death that most likely could have been prevented

No skid marks? Suicide, stupidity, or a beginner that sneezed?

Doubt it was a fatality - going over a curb at high speed to hit a light pole... that's a very narrow target.
