Update on teacher killed on motorcycle last September

Hi all,
Thank you for all your support last year after my husband Tony Serna was killed . I thought that you'd like to know what is going on with it now.

The girl was charged with criminally negligent homicide in February and every month since then her parents and lawyer have been delaying the case . I guess it is an attempt to get us to give up and let her have the demands of no contest and deferred -prosecution. Today at court I and my son told the lawyer that we wanted him to request a trial. It is so sad that she seems not it even care that she took a life or accept the responsibility that her distracted driving with 3 friends in the Dodge Durango was the cause.

I don't know if it is in October or November but I guess that now the fate of her punishment is in the hands of Judge John Phillips of the juvenile courts.

Unfortunately, I think this is a growing trend. I wish there was more that could be done to prevent such behavior. Good luck with the case.
