San Felipe Cemetery: San Felipe,Tx. from the intersection of I-10 and FM 1458 go north about 1 mi to Campo Santo st. turn left. Established 1824. Oldest stone found 1846. This is the Anglo section of the cemetery. The Negro section is on the other side of the fence to the south. There are a lot of Spanish names in the Negro section. The old stones in the Negro section have eroded almost to the point of not being recognizable as a head stone. They must have used a softer stone.
