A co-worker/friend's uncle was critically injured in a motorcycle accident over the weekend. Please include him in your thoughts and prayers.
Here are some details:
Last night, my uncle was critically injured in a motorcycle accident. At this point all I know is that he suffered a head injury, a spleen injury, chest trauma and several fractured vertebrae (no spinal cord involvement). He was air lifted to University Hospital in San Antonio. My parents are going to San Antonio to be with him so I should know more details later tonight. Please be praying for him and our family.
And an update that came earlier today:
First I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
My dad called today and said that Jimmy (my uncle) broke every rib (except his 5th left rib), his sternum, T5 and T6 and some cervical vertebrae. There is no spinal cord involvement, but the cervical fractures are at a very critical point. He also has some head injuries. He was unable to move his right leg today and they were supposed to repeat a head CT scan to see if he had an increase in brain bleeding. He is not on a ventilator at this point, but they said he has had times where it has been difficult for him to maintain his airway. He does recognize my mother and dad, but stays confused a majority of the time.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers and especially be thinking about my mother. If Jimmy were unable to take care of himself, my mother would have to be his caregiver. I know it's way too early to think about that, but please pray that she will have strength through this difficult time.
Clearly, he's still in very serious condition. Thanks in advance for thinking of or praying for him and his family.
